The film takes the premise of Groundhog Day and revamps it to slightly more ridiculous and modern results. What makes Palm Springs work so well is both a twist to the formula — multiple people stuck together in the loop — and the film’s trust that the audience needs little explanation of what’s going on. The premise is quickly established, and then the film just mov...

A Covid-19 Lesson: Some Seriously Ill Patients Can Be Treated at Home – The New York Times

Joan Murray had been home with Covid-19 for about a week when she ran into trouble. She had a fever of 103 degrees and chills that sent shivers up and down her spine. Her oxygen levels were dropping, and the tightness in her chest felt “as if somebody had bound up my lungs with string.” But the 77-year-old, a retired registered nurse who lives alone in Westbury, N.Y., was adamant that she wanted to fight the illness at home. “As a nurse, maybe I knew too much,” she said. “The last place I wanted to be was the hospital.” So the hospital came to her. COVID-19 strains can be identified by cluster of symptoms, study says – New York Post

The coronavirus has six strains and each can be identified by a cluster of symptoms that could help doctors identify patients with severe cases, a new study shows. Scientists at King’s College in London made the discovery using an app that analyzed the symptoms of 1,600 Brits and Americans who had COVID-19 in March and April, the Daily Mail reported. The data, which has not been peer-reviewed, showed six clusters of symptoms, each representing a strain of the coronavirus. The researchers then identified which cluster of symptoms made patients seriously ill — enough to hospitalize them, the news outlet said. The clusters range from mild to life-threatening. Symptoms of the more mild strains range from flu-like symptoms with no fever to flu-like symptoms with a fever and d...
