Although he is not the least popular royal it is a shocking plummet in approval from the general public. Only eight years ago Prince Harry's approval rating was 75 percent according to YouGov. The least popular royal is Prince Andrew, with 80 percent of those asked in the poll conducted by The Sun believing the Duke of York is a liability. Only four percent of those involved in the poll thought Prince Andrew was a benefit to the monarchy. Cholesterol-lowering drug could see coronavirus treated like common cold, study finds – Telegraph.co.uk

A cholesterol-lowering drug could make coronavirus as treatable as the common cold, scientists have suggested. Researchers at New York’s Mount Sinai Medical Center looked at depriving the virus of nutrients which Covid-19 needs to survive. They found that fat which accumulates inside lung cells is a key component of what the virus needs to reproduce. Depriving the virus of these conditions could mean that the virus could be better controlled, with the researchers claiming it could be reduced to something akin to an ordinary cold. "By understanding how the SARS-CoV-2 controls our metabolism, we can wrestle back control from the virus and deprive it from the very resources it needs to survive," said Prof Yaakov Nahmias from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He continued: "With s...

During Coronavirus Lockdowns, Some Doctors Wondered: Where Are the Preemies? – The New York Times

This spring, as countries around the world told people to stay home to slow the spread of the coronavirus, doctors in neonatal intensive care units were noticing something strange: Premature births were falling, in some cases drastically. It started with doctors in Ireland and Denmark. Each team, unaware of the other’s work, crunched the numbers from its own region or country and found that during the lockdowns, premature births — especially the earliest, most dangerous cases — had plummeted. When they shared their findings, they heard similar anecdotal reports from other countries. They don’t know what caused the drop in premature births, and can only speculate as to the factors in lockdown that might have contributed. But further research might help doctors, scientists and parents-to-b...
