New trailers: Bill & Ted Face the Music, Beyoncé’s Black is King, and more – The Verge

I spent last week burning through The Great, Hulu’s new-ish series that has Elle Fanning playing a very fictionalized version of a young Catherine the Great. The first season is about Catherine (not yet the Great) preparing to overthrow her husband, the emperor, and take power, which is a pretty amazing conflict to center on. The show is very reminiscent of The Favourite (it shares both a writer and a very identifiable shooting location), infusing this period drama with modern absurdity and some very over-the-top characters. Nicholas Hoult plays the amazingly pompous and bro-y emperor in a way that almost makes him feel like a tech CEO at times — at one point, he’s even wearing what looks a lot like a hoodie. I don’t know if the show can thrive once Catherine is no longer the unde...

Harry And Meghan Book Lifts Lid On Bitter Split With Family – NDTV

Prince Harry and wife Meghan now live in Los Angeles. London, United Kingdom: Prince Harry and wife Meghan blamed "viper" courtiers for widening their rift with the royal family, according to extracts from a new book published in The Times on Saturday. The couple say they did not contribute to the new biography "Finding Freedom", written by journalists Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand, but friends of the couple provided much of its content. The book, serialised in The Times, will claim that Harry felt "unprotected" by his family, and lay bare his split from brother William and his wife Kate. Kate even refused to make eye contact with her sister-in-law at their final engagement in March, according to the new release. Harry apparently referred to senior courtiers as "vipers" who felt tha...

Sweden COVID-19 policy condemned, but some say its too early to judge – Business Insider – Business Insider

Sweden avoided a full lockdown, instead introducing some rules intended to keep people working while protecting the vulnerable and the hospital system. But its deaths soared, its expected "herd immunity" outcome failed, and other countries are limiting the movement of people from Sweden when opening borders. Now, some Swedes are beginning to question the strategy, and other countries are managing eased lockdowns without a second wave. But Sweden says it is playing the long game, and its economy has suffered less than its neighbors. As a result, some experts say judgement over whether the strategy was right must wait. But Sweden is now left with a high death toll and worries about future outbreaks. Visit Business Insider's homepage for more stories. In February,...

A Viewer Spotted a Lump on Her Neck. Now, She’s Having a Tumor Removed. – The New York Times

When an eagle-eyed viewer noticed something on the broadcast journalist Victoria Price’s neck during a televised segment last month, the woman sent her a short, cryptic email. “Just saw your news report,” the viewer wrote to Ms. Price, an investigative reporter for WFLA-TV in Tampa, Fla. “What concerned me is the lump on your neck. Please have your thyroid checked.” “Reminds me of my neck,” the viewer added. “Mine turned out to be cancer.” Ms. Price heeded the advice: A week later, she saw her doctor. That visit was followed by a first round of blood work and an ultrasound that she said came back as “suspicious.” Then came a referral for a thyroid specialist. On Tuesday, she learned that she had thyroid cancer and that it was spreading to her lymph nodes. Ms. Price, 28, shared the news t...

"I gave up my entire life for this family. I was willing to do whatever it takes. But here we are. It's very sad," Markle reportedly told a friend in March. A spokesperson for Harry and Markle said they were not interviewed for the boo...
