The Oregon Health Authority reported 408 new confirmed and presumptive coronavirus cases Saturday. Four deaths were also reported Saturday following a record nine deaths reported Friday. This is less than the record 437 cases announced July 16. At least 20 lifeguards in NJ test positive for coronavirus after gathering | TheHill – The Hill

At least 20 lifeguards on Long Beach Island (LBI), N.J., tested positive for the coronavirus after attending a party together, according to health officials.  Jonathan Oldham, the mayor of LBI township Harvey Cedars, said the borough clerk was informed of the coronavirus outbreak on Thursday by the LBI Health Department's director, according to NJ.com.  "I just heard that they were together, exactly where they were or what it was, I'm not sure, but I'm under the understanding that they were together at an event," Oldham told NJ.com on Friday. LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - The Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department notified two local bars and the Railyard commons area on Saturday that they were not allowed to operate for 24 hours because their violations of the latest Directed Health Measure “presented a risk to public health and contribute to the community spread of COVID-19.”   LLCHD has ordered Iguanas Pub, 1426 “O” Street; Longwells, 350 Canopy Street; and the Railyard to be closed from 5 p.m. today to 5 p.m. Sunday July 26. Tarrant County Public Health reported 15 additional COVID-19 deaths Saturday, the highest single-day increase in reported deaths related to the virus. The cases include a woman in her 80s, three men in their 80s and two women in their 90s — all Grapevine residents; two Arlington women including one in her 60s and one in her 90s; two men in their 80s, two women in their 50s and a man in his 60s, all from Fort Worth; and two Lake Worth men in their 70s. PIERRE, S.D. (KELO) — South Dakota has 105 new coronavirus cases, according to the South Dakota Department of Health website on Saturday. This brought the state’s total positive case count to 8,305, up from Friday (8,200). The number of recoveries increased by 46 to 7,307, up from Friday (7,261). Minnehaha County saw the biggest case jump with 3,983 total positive cases on Saturday, up 42 from Friday (3,941). The death toll remains at 122. Active cases increased to 876 from Friday (817). The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is investigating an outbreak of salmonella across 23 states, with reports of hundreds of people being sickened. The federal agency announced in a release on Friday an additional 87 illnesses, and eight new states had been affected since the last update on the matter Tuesday. The statement added that as of July 23, a total of 212 people have been infected with the salmonella strain, and 38 of the infections stemmed from new states: Arizona, Florida, Idaho, Maine, North Dakota, Nebraska, South Dakota and Virginia.
