After warning of restrictions, is El Paso County flattening COVID-19 curve? – KRDO

Colorado Springs COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- A stark warning was issued by the El Paso County Public Health Department nearly 14 days ago: if there isn't a slow in the rate of COVID-19, the county could have to re-evaluate variances and scale back business operations. "It's a pretty upward trend for the month of July and it actually began in June," said Dr. Robin Johnson, El Paso County Public Health Medical Director. The county went from a rate that was among the lowest in the state to the second-highest rate in the state behind Denver, but the number of daily coronavirus cases has been dropping since Dr. Leon Kelly's warning. "We have continued to trend upward and in the last couple days we have flattened. It is has be...

Ryan Reynolds offers $5,000 reward for safe return of irreplaceable teddy bear – The A.V. Club

Photo: Han Myung-Gu / Stringer (Getty Images) It is, of course, a stereotype that all Canadians are nice. They are not, in fact, a nation comprised entirely of kindly Mounties; Canadians have bad days, too. This writer can confirm that there are at least two total Canadian buttholes out there (there’s the thief, assuming that person is Canadian, and then there’s another person—you know who you are, Lucas.) But this story is both nice and involves several Canadians being nice, so let’s just lean into it, shall we? For the purposes of this story about Ryan Reynolds and a teddy bear, all Canadians are pure beings of light. The first nice Canadian is Deborah Goble, a reporter for CBC: Goble has been on the case of Mara’s missing teddy bear—a Build-A-Bear that contains a recording of ...

Ellen DeGeneres Show workplace is to be investigated following reports of mistreatment – Daily Mail

The Ellen DeGeneres Show is under investigation following numerous accounts of a 'toxic' and 'bullying' workplace culture. An internal investigation is being launched by WBTV-owner WarnerMedia's employee relations group and a third party firm, Variety reported Monday, to look into staff experiences on set. Employees received a memo last week from executives at producer Telepictures and distributor Warner Bros. Television explaining that current and former staffers will be interviewed. The memo cited recent articles about treatment of crew, with allegations of mistreatment, racism and intimidation on the show as the impetus for the investigation, according to Variety. However, show host Ellen DeGeneres, 62, hasn't been accused of any wrongdoing herself.  Internal inves...

Tony Green, who hosted the party for his parents, told NBC that he woke up with symptoms the morning after the gathering. "We just felt the worst was behind the country because everything was easy, things were reopening and none of us were experiencing any symptoms," he told NBC. Green did not provide the names of his family members but told NBC News that one elderly family member, his partner's grandmother, had died...
