WWE Raw results: Live recap, grades as Randy Orton vs. Big Show unsanctioned match headlines – CBSSports.com

The Horror Show at WWE Extreme Rules was met with mixed reviews with many disappointed that the in-ring action did not live up to the "on-paper" potential of the card, something especially true as WWE bungled the finishes of several of the pay-per-view's biggest matches. The follow-up edition of Raw on Monday night, however, provided some of the best open-to-close in-ring action in recent memory with four outstanding matches and the set-up for some big Extreme Rules rematches. In the night's main event, Randy Orton clashed with The Big Show in an unsanctioned match set up one week ago on Raw. Without Ric Flair in his corner, Orton was able to overcome an early charge from Big Show to win after two RKOs. Of course, Orton, who is on one of the best runs in his incredib...

Another weekend of partygoers in Osceola County leads to several arrests – WKMG News 6 & ClickOrlando

OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. – Authorities in Osceola County are looking into how they can stop vacation rental homes from being used for large gatherings. "We're gonna work with our county government, the board of county commissioners, and our county manager," Russ Gibson, Sheriff of Osceola County said. "And maybe we can look at maybe doing something with the county ordinance." The county sheriff said the idea is not to target the owners of those vacation or rental homes. "Vacation homes is a big part of our tourism industry and we don't want to hurt that at all but we can't afford to sacrifice that for these house parties," Sheriff Gibson said. "These parties are attracting a criminal element as well-- By no means am I saying they're being held by gang members." Over the weekend seven people...

Vaccine trials show early promising results — but major challenges are ahead – NBCNews.com

Two potential coronavirus vaccines have shown promising results in early trials, and while experts say it's encouraging news, they warn that some of the biggest hurdles still lie ahead. The early trial results for the two vaccine candidates — one developed by the University of Oxford and AstraZeneca and the other by the Chinese company CanSino Biologics — showed that both were safe and could induce immune responses in participants. But the next phase will be critical to demonstrate that the potential vaccines can protect against infections. "If we're making a plane, right now we're at the production level," said Dr. Carlos del Rio, executive associate dean of the Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta. "We can say it looks like this can at least get off the ground and do so safe...

What San Diegans Need to Do for County to Get Off State Watchlist – countynewscenter.com

On July 3, the County was placed on the state’s Monitoring List after the region’s case rate went above 100 positive cases per every 100,000 people three days in a row. The County has not met that metric since then, and the case rate stands now at 145.3. What does San Diego County need to do to get off the watchlist? The answer is in San Diegans’ hands. Local health officials continue to urge San Diegans to wear a face covering, avoid gatherings, maintain six feet distance from anyone outside their household, wash their hands thoroughly, and take other preventive measures to slow the spread of COVID-19 and prevent community outbreaks. “We hope that the actions we’ve taken in the past few weeks will help us flatten the curve and bring the number of cases down,” said Wilma Woo...

Vic Mensa, Lauren Jauregui, Aloe Blacc and more lent their voices to Defund The Sheriff (The Album), a musical compilation tied to the campaign to defund the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department and allocate those funds to other local resources. JusticeLA, #SchoolsNotPrisons, Question Culture and Reform LA Jails produced Defund The Sheriff, which criminal justice speaker and musician Mike de la Rocha and formerly incarcerated Question Culture CEO Richie Reseda executive produced.
