Grim coronavirus death toll projected in Sweden after lax approach to pandemic – CBS News

Swedish health officials said Tuesday that at least another 3,000 deaths from the coronavirus are likely in the country, known for its controversial softer approach to curbing the spread and much higher death toll than its neighbors. The projection comes from one of three potential scenarios presented in a report from the country's Public Health Agency on Tuesday. In the worst scenario, where COVID-19 was expected to follow a traditional pandemic trajectory, over 4,400 more deaths related to the virus could follow. That would nearly double the 5,646 deaths, out of 78,166 confirmed cases, that have been recorded since the start of the pandemic. However, they said a more likely scenario would see clusters of new cases around the country which would then quickly subside. That is a sc...

Burger Records shuts down for good – Brooklyn Vegan

Earlier this week, Burger Records issued a statement, following accusations of sexual misconduct against several artists and employees at the label, in which they promised to make "major structural change" including co-founder and president Lee Rickard stepping down, with Burger's other co-founder, Sean Bohrman, moving "into a transitional role." Now, Pitchfork reports that Burger Records have shut down completely. Jessa Zapor-Gray, who was to be the new interim president, issued a statement saying she no longer planned to assume that role: In the last year and a half, I have worked with Burger and Burger artists on communications and partnerships on a contract basis. Over the weekend I was asked to assume the role of the label's interim president with the hope I could reform the label ...

Studios keep plotting returns to filming in states including California, New York, Georgia and Illinois as they hash out details of on-set COVID-19 protocols with the guilds. Kim Kardashian, Kanye West divorce talk swirls amid rappers meltdown – Page Six

Kim Kardashian likely won’t divorce Kanye West anytime soon because of the optics. “Now is not the right time for divorce,” a source told Page Six Wednesday. “They’re smart enough to know it’s not a good look. “She’ll put on a show of trying to support him, then a divorce can happen later.” Rumors of divorce have been swirling since West, 43, claimed he wanted to abort daughter North West during his first campaign rally for his supposed run for president in North Charleston, SC. Days later, West launched into a series of tirades on Twitter, with one claiming his 39-year-old wife tried to “lock me up.” In a separate tweetstorm, West alleged he’s been trying to divorce Kardashian for two years. He also referred to Kris Jenner, his mother-in-law, as “Kris Jong-Un.” West sin...
