Join the Global Dance Party With R3habs Uplifting Remix of For King & Countrys Together – Billboard

Featuring gospel legend Kirk Franklin and pop singer Tori Kelly, For King & Country's recent track "Together" was all about unity in the face of adversity. (The duo, along with Franklin and Kelly, recently performed the track on last month's massive "Global Goal: Unite for Our Future" livestream.) And today the Australian brothers (Luke and Joel Smallbone) elevate the message of togetherness with a dance remix from R3hab -- and an inspirational and globally unified video to match. With his edit, the Dutch producer turns up the BPMs, adds some chunky synths and makes the song's already climactic moment truly grandiose. A video released in conjunction with the remix features dancers from around the world getting down to the track while waving flags and dually repping their h...

Whats Your Favorite Song on Taylor Swifts Folklore? Vote! – Billboard

Less than a year after Lover came out in August 2019, Taylor Swift returns to the woods and plants herself back in her singer-songwriter roots. But which song sounds like a natural hit among the Swifties? Bon Iver's Justin Vernon is the sole featured artist on "exile," his low growling voice recorded in Fall Creek, Wis. bemoaning a betrayed love. Swift stands in as the lover, her honeyed yet crisp vocals recorded in Los Angeles, Calif. gives the track a bittersweet contrast. The National's Aaron Dessner played an integral part in the album process, plucking an "invisible string" for what Billboard ranked as the best song on her project, a serendipitous ode to letting the simpler things of life make us happy and nothing more. But some sleuthing fans think "betty" serves as an E...

California coronavirus case surge exacerbates inequities – Los Angeles Times

California reached another bleak coronavirus milestone this week, recording more than 150 daily deaths in the worst fatality numbers since the pandemic began. But just as troubling, health officials and experts say, is how COVID-19 is stalking certain groups, such as essential workers, and those in institutions including nursing homes and prisons, at much greater rates than those who have the ability to stay home. Californians of color are far more likely to become infected or die from the coronavirus. But the most recent surge in cases is exacerbating those inequities. “The epidemic in the West is particularly among the Latinx community. ... They are both in urban, as well as rural, agricultural areas,” said Dr. George Rutherford, an epidemiologist and infectious diseases expert at UC Sa...

Wisconsin exceeds 1,000 positive coronavirus tests for 3rd time in 4 days with record testing – WBAY

MADISON, Wis. (WBAY) - For the third time in four days, Wisconsin identified more than 1,000 new coronavirus patients. But a record day for test results brought down the percentage of positive tests -- a key indicator for how the state’s containing the virus. The Department of Health Services received 17,456 test results in the 24-hour period ending Friday. There were 1,018 positive tests, or 5.83%. That’s down a full percentage point from Thursday. The other 16,438 tests were negative. It’s the fourth straight day the state received more than 14,000 tests. Wisconsin’s 83 public and private lab partners are capable of processing 24,156 tests a day. There were additional cases in all but 10 of Wisconsin’s 72 counties. No more deaths were reported to the state, so the death toll held stead...

Heres What We Do And Dont Know About Coronavirus Immunity – BuzzFeed News

Although the novel coronavirus pandemic still defies prediction, medical experts are expressing increasing optimism about the human immune system’s ability to fight the virus. Doomsday headlines followed a recent study of recovered COVID-19 patients reporting that antibodies, the hallmark of the immune system responding to an infection, may only last a few months. But in the last month, promising vaccine results and new findings analyzing the immune response of people who survived the disease are giving scientists more encouragement. Experts caution this is only provisional given that we are still in the early months of a pandemic that has so far killed more than 600,000 people. "We don't want to get ahead of ourselves, but the coronavirus is starting to look a lot like othe...

KU Health System reports death of pediatric patient – KSHB

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The University of Kansas Health System said Friday a pediatric patient died from COVID-19 complications this week. A spokeswoman for the health system confirmed the death but could not provide further details on the patient’s age or circumstances surrounding the death, citing privacy laws. Pediatric patients at the University of Kansas Hospital range from newborns to teenagers. While deaths and serious complications from the coronavirus remain rare in children, it’s an issue raising concern as schools continue to plan for how to bring students safely back to the classroom in the fall. In the Kansas City metro, several of the larger districts — including Blue Valley, Shawnee Mission and Kansas City, Missouri, Public Schools — have said they will wait to start until after...
