Pandemic parties rage on despite coronavirus crisis – South Florida Sun Sentinel

According to police reports, when officers first arrived at a large house in village of Royal Palm Beach on May 22 and knocked on the door, they were met by a drunken, belligerent man who claimed to be of legal age. Inside the house, the reports state, officers could see some 10 teens drinking. After backup arrived and the man who answered the door was arrested, officers allowed the 40 to 50 teenagers who had been in the backyard — “consuming what appeared to be alcoholic beverages and yelling at each other”— to leave.

Pathologist found blood clots in ‘almost every organ’ during autopsies on COVID-19 patients – KPRC Click2Houston

Autopsies on people who died of the coronavirus are helping doctors understand how the disease affects the body -- and one of the most remarkable findings concerned blood clotting, a pathologist says. Dr. Amy Rapkiewicz, the chairman of the department of pathology at NYU Langone Medical Center, spoke to Erin Burnett on OutFront Thursday night. Some Covid-19 patients are known to develop blood clotting issues, but the degree and the extent to which that occurs was described as "dramatic" by Rapkiewicz. In the early stages of the pandemic, bedside clinicians noticed a lot of blood clotting "in lines and various large vessels," she said. "What we saw at autopsy was sort of an extension of that," she said. "The clotting was not only in the large vessels but also in the smaller vessels. "And ...

All the hospitals are full: In Houston, overwhelmed ICUs leave COVID-19 patients waiting in ER – NBC News

But he warned that there’s a limit to what Houston hospitals can do to respond to the crisis. “We are adding more capacity, but we are absolutely stretched now, and if it keeps going this way, we’re going to run out of room. We’re going to look like New York,” McCarthy said, emphasizing the need for Houston residents to stay home and avoid crowds to slow the virus’s spread. One of Houston’s largest hospital systems, HCA Healthcare, also has been caring for dozens of COVID-19 patients in its emergency departments. In a statement, HCA spokeswoman Debra Burbridge said hospital officials have taken steps to reduce the impact on patients, including sending staff members who would normally be performing or assisting with elective surgeries — which have been suspended under an order by the gove...

Supermarket worker collapses in front of Prince Charles: video – New York Post

This is the startling moment a British supermarket worker went down like a sack of potatoes in front of Prince Charles. The employee of the Asda retailer was speaking with the Prince of Wales at a supermarket distribution center in Bristol on Thursday when he began swaying before dropping to the ground, the Independent reported. Charles, 71, reached out to the man but not in time to stop him from plunging backward. “Dear, oh dear,” he said as people rushed to help the worker. It was unclear why the man fell, but he soon recovered and met Charles again. “Thank you very much, sir,” the man told the royal, chuckling. Charles and his wife, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, visited the center to thank workers for their efforts during the coronavirus pandemic. “I think it’s fa...

Sarah Paulson Dodges Question About Lea Michele Allegations – E! NEWS

Several other stars from the show weighed in on the claims. For instance, Matthew Morrison talked about the allegations during an interview on FUBAR Radio's Access All Areas, and Heather Morris spoke out on social media. "Let me be very clear," the 33-year-old actress, who played Brittany Pierce, wrote in a note posted to Twitter. "Hate is a disease in America that we are trying to cure, so I would never wish for hate to be spread to anyone else. With that said, was she unpleasant to work with? Very much so; for Lea to treat others with the disrespect that she did for as long as she did, I believe she should be called out. And yet, it's also on us because to allow it to go on for so long without speaking out is something else we're learning about with the rest of society. But, at the curr...

Robert De Niro to live in upstate NY for foreseeable future amid coronavirus – Page Six

Robert De Niro will be living in upstate New York “for the foreseeable future” because of the coronavirus pandemic, his lawyer said during a court hearing Thursday. The “The Irishman” actor attended a Skype hearing in his divorce case with Grace Hightower in which she was asking a judge to order De Niro to raise her monthly credit card limit from $50,000 to $100,000 and give her access to his upstate three-home compound. De Niro’s lawyer, Caroline Krauss, told the judge that his estranged wife and their two kids should not be granted exclusive use of the “Gardiner property” — an apparent reference to an Ulster county town — as the “Raging Bull” star and his other children and grandchildren plan to continue to stay there. “He intends to reside in Gardiner for the foreseeable ...

Trumps Twitter account inexplicably liked an obscure stripper tweet – Business Insider – Business Insider

Overnight, someone in charge of President Trump's Twitter account hit the like button on a tweet praising an R&B singer for her ability to "bring the stripper back." "Summer Walker getting us in our feelings in Let it go, just to bring the stripper back in SWV instantly," the tweet from an account with just over 1,200 followers read. It is the only Tweet listed as being liked by Trump's account, and it is unclear if the president hit the button or if it came from a staffer.  This is not the first time this has happened, with a random tweet about the HBO show "Insecure" getting a like from Trump in June. The White House did not return Insider's request for comment. Visit Business Insider's homepage for more stories. In the middle of a pandemic, high unemploy...
