Bethesda (United States) (AFP) - President Donald Trump finally yielded to pressure and wore a face mask in public for the first time on Saturday as the US posted another daily record for coronavirus cases, while Disney World reopened in a state hit hard by the pandemic. White House experts leading the national fight against the contagion have recommended wearing face coverings in public to prevent transmission of the illness. Greg Abbott rolled back lockdown rules and allowed bars in Texas to partly reopen, Tillman, 29, went out to lift a few cold ones, just because it had been so long. She patronized a few restaurants, went to the grocery store, the gas station. She had a birthday party for her son and took a family trip to Port Aransas. Patient dies after catching coronavirus at COVID party in Texas – The Jerusalem Post

A patient in their 30s who contracted the novel coronavirus at a "COVID party" in San Antonio, Texas, passed away from the virus, local NBC affiliate WOAI/KABB reported. A COVID party is a party hosted by a diagnosed COVID-19 patient to see if guests get infected. According to Methodist Healthcare's chief medical officer Dr. Jane Appleby, the core idea of these parties is to see if the virus is real. Other states have also seen COVID parties being held, such as Washington state and Alabama. COVID-19 cases in Texas, including in Bexar County, where San Antonio is, have spiked considerably in recent day...

And eight states set single-day death records this week: Alabama, Arizona, Florida, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Dakota, Texas and Tennessee. South Carolina and Florida were among the first states to reopen and are now among the worst-hit states. Florida hit daily records twice in the last 10 days, and has surpassed 10,000 daily cases five times in that period, announcing 10,360 new infections on Saturday. In South Carolina, National Guard troops were expected to be called in to help hospitals in the state handle the increased strain on the health care ...
