Amber Heard speaks out on incredibly painful Depp court case as trial ends – Page Six

An emotional Amber Heard spoke outside a UK court Tuesday of the “incredibly painful” case that picked through the “most traumatic and intimate details” of her volatile marriage to Johnny Depp.

As the explosive three-week trial came to an end, the 34-year-old “Justice League” actress said she stood by her testimony in the libel case that the Hollywood superstar had beaten her more than a dozen times during their relationship.

Standing outside London’s High Court, she was booed and heckled with calls of “Justice for Johnny” — while Depp was cheered and handed flowers as he left with a large smile almost an hour later.

The 34-year-old actress suggested that the case — in which Depp sued The Sun newspaper for calling him a “wife beater” — was a waste of UK taxpayer’s money while declaring her “faith in British justice.”

“I traveled here to the UK to testify as a witness to assist the court,” Heard said shortly after summation ended, her voice breaking at times.

“After obtaining a restraining order in 2016 and finalizing my divorce, I just wanted to move on with my life. I did not file this lawsuit and, despite its significance, I would have preferred not to be here in court,” she said.

“It has been incredibly painful to relive the break-up of my relationship, to have my motives and my truth questioned, and the most traumatic and intimate details of my life with Johnny shared in court and broadcast to the entire world.

“I stand by my testimony and I now place my faith in British justice,” she said.

“Although I did not bring up this lawsuit, I am aware of the precious resources being consumed by his litigation and I will be glad to see those resources re-directed to more important legal matters delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I appreciate the dedication, the hard work and support of the defense legal team, as well as my UK and US lawyers.

“I also wish to extend my thanks to the very diligent and kind court staff and the police, who have been so sensitive in ensuring my safety and my protection so that I could testify in safety.

“And finally, my heartfelt thanks for all of the tremendous outpouring of support and the many messages I have received from all over the world. You have given me so much strength and I send it back to you.”

In the morning, Depp had been greeted by a crowd of screaming fans when he arrived at the court. Many were still there when he left almost eight hours later, with the star smiling broadly and waving as he was cheered and handed flowers.

A decision in the case is not expected for weeks — if not months.

The judge gave no indication of when his ruling will come, but it is anticipated it will not be before September.
