Alanis Morissette Returns With Such Pretty Forks in the Road: Stream It Now – Billboard

Isn’t it ironic, we’re all stuck at home with no new music to play. That statement’s not entirely accurate, seeing as Alanis Morissette has blessed us with the release of Such Pretty Forks in the Road, her ninth studio album.

Pretty Forks arrives 25 years after her iconic album Jagged Little Pill, which ruled the Billboard 200 for 12 weeks and gave us the classics “Hand in My Pocket,” “You Oughta Know,” “Ironic” and more. The Canadian songstress was to mount a major global tour to celebrate the milestone, but it has been pushed back due to the pandemic.

Spanning 11 tracks, Such Pretty Forks in the Road is the Canadian songstress’s first LP since 2012. It was meant to drop May 1 but it too was delayed because of the health crisis.

The new set was written and recorded between Malibu and the Bay Area, with support from Michael Farrell and producers Catherine Marks and Alex Hope. “I’d been wanting to make a ‘piano record’ forever,” Morissette told Entertainment Weekly. And she did.
