On Monday, the state of Florida dropped the age requirement for COVID-19 vaccines to 40. “What we’re asking individuals to do who are interested in getting vaccinated at our location is to go on myvaccine.fl.gov and pre-register for a place in line. As vaccine is available, they’ll be contacted for an appointment,” said Jeremy Lanier, with the Florida Department of Health in Osceola County. Those who are eligible can get vaccinated at locations across Central Florida, including Centro Cristiano Dios De Pactos Church in Kissimmee, which is able to administer about a thousand Pfizer shots a day.Other options include the Chambers Park Community Center or the 65th Infantry Veterans Park. Both are also in Kissimmee. In Orlando, the Valencia College West Campus will be open, as will the Orange County Convention Center, which is actually already administering vaccines to those 40 and up. That was a decision made by the Orange County mayor. It was smooth sailing on Monday at the Valencia College West Campus location.
