Mega compound has shown a lot of interest and responsibility in negotiating with the AP government to hike up the ticket prices.
There were discussions that Chiranjeevi stooped down with folded hands to please the Chief Minister in this regard.
Finally, the government pleased the film industry with a hike in ticket prices. But what is the outcome? Did industry really get the benefit? It looks that ‘Acharya’ itself is facing the negative impact of it.
Generally there will be a batch of audience who wish to watch the film ‘for once’, irrespective of the talk. But the present ticket prices are not encouraging them now.
Without second thought they are using the cancellation facility as soon as they hear the talk in order not to waste the money.
The films like ‘Acharya’ are different from those of RRR and KGF-2. The audience for pan India publicised films are different from that of regional films today.
The high ticket prices didn’t trouble RRR much. The hike in KGF-2 ticket prices is very small. But when it comes to ‘Acharya;’, the single screens in Telangana charge Rs 30 extra and in AP Rs 50 is added to the ticket price for the first 10 days.
Had the film been good, that extra Rs 50 would have automatically come irrespective of hike in the prices. But now as the film received bad talk, forget about the extra Rs 50/-, it looks difficult to get the basic ticket price itself. The audience are stepping back looking at the high ticket price for a film with bad talk.
‘Acharya’ proved that the high ticket prices would not help the producers. Any product should be in reach to the pockets of the public. ‘Acharya’ taught this lesson.
We have to see how the rest of the upcoming films would act on this.
