Amy Schumer said she’s satisfied after undergoing a liposuction procedure.
The comic, 40, who is slated to co-host the upcoming Oscars with Wanda Sykes and Regina Hall later this month, opened up about the procedure on Chelsea Handler’s Dear Chelsea podcast.
‘I got liposuction,’ said the Emmy-winning star, who shares son Gene, two, with her spouse, Chris Fischer, 42. ‘I never thought that I was going to do anything like that.

‘Like when I would hear liposuction I was just like, that’s so crazy to me, and I would say that I’m not ever going to do anything.’
The Trainwreck actress said that after ‘turning 40’ and ‘having a C-section,’ and having her uterus and appendix removed as result of pain from endometriosis, liposuction became a viable option.
‘I healed well, and I was like, can I get lipo?’ The Girl with the Lower Back Tattoo author said. ‘And I got lipo and I’m feeling really good.’
Schumer opened up about undergoing the procedure in a January 18 Instagram post in which she showed gratitude toward the medical professionals who helped her get her ‘strength back’ via the liposuction and endometriosis-related operations.

Schumer told Handler about her public candor on the health procedures, ‘I just wanted to say that, because if anybody sees me in pictures or anything and they’re like, she looks thinner, and whatever: it’s because I had a surgery’
‘I feel good,’ she said. ‘Finally … never thought i would do anything but talk to me after your uterus doesn’t contract for 2.5 years and you turn 40.’
Schumer told Handler about her public candor on the health procedures, ‘I just wanted to say that, because if anybody sees me in pictures or anything and they’re like, she looks thinner, and whatever: it’s because I had a surgery.
‘It’s too hard, and I just want to be real about it.’
In the podcast, Schumer spoke about her efforts with Fischer to have another child via the IVF process, saying, ‘We tried and it didn’t work – and now I don’t have a uterus.’
Schumer said she felt ‘sad’ they couldn’t have any more kids, but she’s focused on ‘enjoying [their] little family.’
‘We tried, and we’re just going to have the one perfect, little adorable angel,’ Schumer said.
Schumer stars in the upcoming show Life & Beth alongside Michael Cera and Violet Young. The show will premiere on Hulu March 18.
The Oscars are slated to be held Sunday, March 27, 2022 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PST and will be broadcast live on ABC.
