Jason Ritter took to Twitter Saturday in defense of his wife Melanie Lynskey after she was body shamed on social media.

Ritter, 41, posted a comment on the social media site quoting his wife’s previous tweet expressing her frustration on the topic.

‘If anyone has any further unsolicited comments about *anybody* else’s body, they can feel free to write them in permanent ink onto their own foreheads and swan dive directly into the sun,’ Ritter said.

Lynskey, 44, previously took to the site Friday to comment on people who make unsolicited comments about her weight under the guise of concern for her well-being.

‘Most egregious are the “I care about her health!!” people…’ said the Yellowjackets actress, who shares a three-year-old daughter with her spouse. ‘B**** you don’t see me on my Peloton! You don’t see me running through the park with my child. Skinny does not always equal healthy.’

Lynskey, who tied the knot with the Tales of Titans actor in 2020, chat earlier this month with Rolling Stone about how a staffer in production of her Showtime series Yellowjackets had nudged her to lose weight.

‘They were asking me, “What do you plan to do? I’m sure the producers will get you a trainer. They’d love to help you with this.”‘

Lynskey said that she was supported by co-stars Tawny Cypress, Christina Ricci and Juliette Lewis on the issue, as Lewis wrote a letter to the show’s producers.

Lynskey spoke with People on the topic of body image in a 2016 interview, saying she ‘was very unwell for a long time’ in ‘trying to conform to something that was not physically possible for’ her.

‘I was losing my mind,’ she said. ‘I had eating issues and at a certain point I was like, “I’m not going to survive” – not like I was on death’s door or anything, but I was so unhappy and my hair was falling out.’

Lynskey said, ‘I was like, “I just need to look the way I’m supposed to look” and have faith that people are going to want to put someone in a film or on a show who looks like this. I did have to truly become comfortable with myself, because you can’t fake it.’
