Back in September Schumer, who’s married to chef Chris Fischer, 42, shared that her struggle with endometriosis led to the removal of her uterus and appendix.

At the time, she appeared on Instagram from her hospital room and said, ‘I’m feeling really hopeful and I am really glad that I did it, and I think it’s going to change my life.’

The standup comedian, who shares two-year-old son Gene David Fischer with her husband, called the condition ‘painful and debilitating.’

Speaking further about women’s health she said, ‘[Women] are made to feel like they are just supposed to “tough it out” but that is bull—-. We have a right to live pain free.’

Post-surgery Schumer noted, ‘All my lifelong pain explained and lifted out of my body. I am already a changed person. I am busting with joy for the new energy I have to be with my son.’
