Ye briefly alluded to the comments he made about Taylor Swift during the 2009 VMAs, stating that he “did a personal exile” in Japan after the event because “all of America hated” him. Elsewhere in the interview he mentioned speaking with Trump on the phone about A$AP Rocky being jailed in Sweden. He also said that following his 2018 visit with Trump, the then-President told him, “Ye, my friend, my Black approval rating went up 40% when you came to the White House.”

Elsewhere in the interview, he discussed his mental health and bipolar diagnosis, his relationship with Kim Kardashian West, and more. At one point, he declared himself “the king of culture.” He also compared himself to Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin.

On the first installment of his time on Drink Champs, West discussed a wide range of subjects—including Donda, cancel culture, wellness, religion, and abortion—at length. After another edition of Sunday Service, West said that he wanted to end his long-running feud with Drake, inviting him to appear at an event in support of Hoover.
