Whats Your Favorite Song on Taylor Swifts Folklore? Vote! – Billboard

Less than a year after Lover came out in August 2019, Taylor Swift returns to the woods and plants herself back in her singer-songwriter roots. But which song sounds like a natural hit among the Swifties?

Bon Iver‘s Justin Vernon is the sole featured artist on “exile,” his low growling voice recorded in Fall Creek, Wis. bemoaning a betrayed love. Swift stands in as the lover, her honeyed yet crisp vocals recorded in Los Angeles, Calif. gives the track a bittersweet contrast.

The National‘s Aaron Dessner played an integral part in the album process, plucking an “invisible string” for what Billboard ranked as the best song on her project, a serendipitous ode to letting the simpler things of life make us happy and nothing more.

But some sleuthing fans think “betty” serves as an Easter egg by revealing the name of Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively’s third child, while their other two daughters, James and Inez, are name-dropped in the lyrics, “You heard the rumors from Inez” and “She said ‘James, get in, let’s drive.'” But the Swifites have spread more rumors about this mysterious yet playful tune like wildfire.
