The Iowa Department of Public Health released new COVID-19 data Wednesday.The health department reports 42 additional COVID-19 deaths in the last week. There have been 6,268 COVID-19 deaths in Iowa since the start of the pandemic.According to IDPH, there have been 7,619 additional positive COVID-19 tests in the last seven days. IDPH reports 432,982 positive tests since the start of the pandemic.Iowa’s test positivity rates have increased in the last week. The 14-day average increased from 7.8% to 8.2% and the 7-day average increased from 8% to 8.3%.An additional 17,829 people have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 in Iowa, for a total of 1,593,557. IDPH reports 48.6% of eligible Iowans are fully vaccinated. The Iowa Department of Public Health provides a weekly update on COVID-19 data in the state. This report is based on that data.IDPH has not provided an update on COVID-19 hospitalizations at the time of this report.
