Reba McEntire has revealed that she and her boyfriend, Rex Linn, recently tested positive for COVID-19 despite being vaccinated.

The 66-year-old country singer made the news known while appearing on a TikTok livestream where she told her fans about how the two had to endure the effects of the coronavirus.

The Grammy-winning songwriter has been involved with her current partner ever since last winter, and they have remained together while recuperating from COVID-19.

McEntire began her message by noting that, although the past months had been difficult for many people, she was aware that the pandemic was not going away anytime soon.

She noted: ‘I just want to say one thing: this has been a hard year and it’s getting rougher again.’

The Tremors actress then bluntly told her fans to take all available precautions to slow down the spread of the coronavirus. 

‘You guys, please stay safe. Wear your mask. Do what you have to do. Stay home. Just stay safe, stay healthy,’ she said.

The hitmaker also expressed that both she and her 64-year-old beau had been infected with COVID-19 and recalled that the experience was particularly difficult.

‘It’s not fun to get this. I did get it. Rex and I got it and it’s not fun. You don’t feel good,’ she expressed.

McEntire concluded the message by noting that, although she and the actor had received a vaccine prior to their diagnosis, they still came down with the coronavirus and expressed that she wanted her fans to be safe. 

‘We were both vaccinated and we still got it, so stay safe, stay home and be protected the best you can,’ she said.

The country singer and Linn were first romantically connected in January of last year.

Prior to becoming involved with the CSI: Miami actor, she was married to her first husband, Charlie Battles, from 1976 until 1987.

She went on to marry her manager, Narvel Blackstock, in 1989.

McEntire grew close to her second husband’s three children from a previous relationship, and the two went on to welcome a son named Shelby Steven in 1990.

Although the former couple went strong for nearly three decades, they separated in 2015 and finalized their divorce that same year.

She later developed a relationship with Anthony Lasuzzo, although they eventually went their separate ways in 2019.

McEntire and Linn began getting closer last January and were in constant contact during the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic.

During an interview with Good Morning America, the songstress noted that her new relationship had provided plenty of songwriting material for her over the past months. 

‘I’m in love, so that really inspires me to find love songs, to find happy songs,’ she remarked. 

McEntire also humorously expressed that Linn made her feel like a ‘giddy teenager.’
