Safety measures related to the COVID-19 pandemic at theme parks have been changing on a weekly basis as of late. First, temperature checks were removed and physical distancing requirements reduced to three feet. Then, the mandate for face coverings to be worn while outdoors was relaxed less than two weeks ago. Now, it’s being reported to us that wearing masks indoors will also become optional.
Beginning this coming Saturday, May 29th, the requirement for wearing masks indoors is expected to become optional. This will include eliminating the requirement for face coverings when experiencing attractions, both indoors and outdoors.
Additionally, Team Members assigned to mask enforcement duties are being reassigned to other tasks beginning this weekend, further signaling that masks will, effectively, be entirely optional at Universal Orlando Resort starting Saturday.
We’ll update this post with further details once Universal Orlando Resort releases an official statement.
