Anna Faris admits there was ‘competitiveness and comparison’ in her marriage with Chris Pratt: ‘I didn’t handle that very well’

Anna Faris has admitted she often felt competitive in her previous marriages.

The actress – who divorced husband Chris Pratt in 2018 – reflected on her past relationships in a chat with Gwyneth Paltrow for her Unqualified podcast on Monday.

Anna, 44, confessed she didn’t do a good job of ‘eliminating’ competitiveness in her marriages but hope she’s learned from it.

‘My two other marriages were with actors and I don’t think we did a great job of eliminating competitiveness,’ Anna told Gwyneth, 48.

‘Or at least I didn’t, being a proud person, and not wanting to reveal vulnerability.

‘Any hint of competitiveness and comparison, I didn’t handle that very well, I don’t think,’ she added. ‘And I hope I’ve grown from that.’

Before her marriage to Chris, 41, Anna was married to actor Ben Indra from 2004 to 2008.

She married the Parks and Recreation star in 2009. In the time they were together, Chris went from comedy TV star to an action hero with leading roles in movies such as Guardians of the Galaxy in 2014 and Jurassic World in 2015.

Anna, who already had some big movies under belt like House Bunny and Scary Movie, landed a starring role in CBS comedy Mom in 2013. She announced her exit from the long-running series in September 2020.

'Any hint of competitiveness and comparison, I didn't handle that very well, I don't think,' Anna said. 'And I hope I've grown from that.' She is seen here with Chris in December 2010

The actors announced their separation in a social media post in August 2017, writing: ‘Anna and I are sad to announce we are legally separating. We tried hard for a long time, and we’re really disappointed.’

The former couple have a son, Jack, eight, who they now amicably co-parent together.

Now, Anna is engaged to cinematographer Michael Barrett, who she met while filming Overboard.

The Guardians of the Galaxy star meanwhile is married to Katherine Schwarzenegger and they welcomed daughter Lyla Maria in August 2020.
