The Iowa department of Public Health on Tuesday reported 694 new positive COVID-19 cases and 26 additional deaths.At 10 a.m., the health department reported 360,278 total positive tests, 310,884 total recoveries and 5,400 total deaths since the start of the pandemic. Twenty-four hours earlier, the health department reported 359,584 total cases and 5,374 total deaths.IPDH reports 589,056 vaccine doses have been administered in Iowa, with 146,603 individuals receiving both doses. There have been 3,975,909 COVID-19 tests administered in the state.There are currently 227 patients hospitalized with COVID-19, up slightly from 222 the previous day. The state reports 58 patients in ICU and 25 patients on ventilators.Twenty of Iowa’s long-term care facilities are reporting virus outbreaks. That’s down from 21 a day earlier. The health department reports 520 positive cases and 352 recoveries among residents and staff within those facilities.
