Dozens line up early for free COVID-19 vaccines in Lee County – NBC2 News

LEE COUNTY, Fla. – The Florida Department of Health in Lee County will be giving out the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine to the most vulnerable beginning Dec. 28.

Dozens of cars camped out overnight on Dec. 27 to secure their spot in line.

High-risk frontline healthcare workers and those 65 and older will be eligible to get the vaccine at vaccine sites. The Department of Health in Lee County will have 300 doses of the vaccine at each site.

The vaccine will be free and no appointment is required. Patients will need to bring an ID showing proof of age or a copy of an ID badge or paystub for healthcare workers, the Department of Health said.

The Moderna vaccine requires a second dose to be given at least 28 days after the first dose.
