Meghan Markle Reflects on Royal Life, Calling the Time Unsurvivable – Showbiz Cheat Sheet

In just a few short years, Meghan Markle has gone from being an actress who led a relatively quiet life to one of the most high-profile women in the entire world. When she was starring in the legal drama Suits, Meghan was famous in her own right but was still able to go out and about in public without being followed by swarms of photographers.

All of this changed, however, when she entered into a serious relationship with Prince Harry. Suddenly, Meghan had virtually no privacy, and it wasn’t one bit easy.

When Meghan and Prince Harry got married in 2018, chances are, the Duchess of Sussex didn’t realize just how much her life would change. She surely knew that she would be getting a lot of attention, however, what actually went down wasn’t exactly something that anyone could have predicted.

The former actress only stayed in her royal role for a short time before their royal exit was announced. Now, Meghan reflects on royal life, calling the time “unsurvivable.”

Unlike her husband, Meghan wasn’t always in the public eye. She grew up in LA, California, in a pretty typical family where she was close to both of her parents. Meghan attended an all-girls private high school, and after that, just like millions of other people, she went off to college at Northwestern University, taking on a double major in theater and international studies.

The now-duchess knew that she wanted to pursue a career in acting, and she worked hard to make this happen. She was and still is, active in charity and humanitarian work, and has never hesitated to speak her mind.

After a successful stint as Rachel Zane on Suits, Meghan retired from acting to begin her new journey as a member of the British royal family, and things have never been the same.

Meghan once hinted at not being ‘okay’

To most people, being a member of the royal family sounds like a dream come true. After all, what could be better than being married to a handsome prince, living in a palace, and having pretty much everything you could ever want?

In reality, this wasn’t exactly the case for Meghan. Although Prince Harry has always stuck by her side, royal life proved to be more than difficult.

Meghan was relentlessly harassed in the British tabloids for everything from her personal family issues to her mixed-race background. Things got to be extremely overwhelming, and there were several occasions when Prince Harry released statements asking for the media to leave his wife alone.

After the couple welcomed their first son, Archie Harrison, they found themselves in the spotlight like never before, and as a struggling new mom, Meghan really spoke her mind, saying “not many people have asked if I’m ok”.

Now that Meghan and Prince Harry have resigned from royal duties, she is free to do things that she wasn’t allowed to before, and we are getting a better idea of what her time was like as a royal. Her fame increased tremendously after becoming the Duchess of Sussex, and it got to the point where she was known to be the most “trolled person in the world.”

Meghan was receiving a lot of backlash, even on social media, and she recently said during a podcast that social media is “a great way to connect, but it also ends up being a place where there’s a lot of disconnection.” As if that weren’t enough, the duchess continued by adding that during her pregnancy and after the birth of Archie, “what was able to just be manufactured and churned out, it’s almost unsurvivable.”
