Katy Perry Delivered a Baby & a Record in the Same Week Plus Cry About It Later Video From Her Hospital Be – Billboard

Perry dropped the cartoon ‘Cry About It Later’ visual today (Aug. 28) as the third installment of her “Smile Video Series.”

Katy Perry pulled triple duty in the delivery room this week, and she didn’t even give birth to triplets.

After giving birth to her first daughter Daisy Dove Bloom with fiancé Orlando Bloom on Wednesday (Aug. 26), Perry released her highly anticipated studio album Smile Friday (Aug. 28). And somehow, the superstar-turned-super mom continued with her album rollout with what seemed to be the slightest of ease. But Perry made sure to tweet about the laborious behind-the-scenes efforts all from her hospital bed.

“Delivering a baby and a record in the same week, dont f*ck with mama aka #whatmakesawoman #smile,” she wrote yesterday morning (Aug. 27) while tagging her single “What Makes a Woman” that’s dedicated to her daughter. She later shared a hilarious meme on Instagram that featured a climbing couple casually tossing their toddler, with the caption, “me after feeding all day handing Daisy off to daddy bout to deliver this 2nd child #SMILEISCOMING lezzgo.”

But once the clock struck midnight, it was time to announce the arrival of baby No. 2 right where she delivered her first.

“IT’S HERE! IT’S REALLY HERE! I finally got back my smile! Hope this record puts one on your face #SMILE IS OUT EVERYWHERE NOW! LOVE YOU GUYS SO MUCH ENJOY (sent from my hospital bed lol) katy.to/smile,” she shared on social media with a video teaser of the entire tracklist as “Cry About It Later” played in the background.

But Smile is truly the gift that keeps on giving, as the 35-year-old pop star also dropped a bewitching cartoon visual for “Cry About It Later” today as part of her “Smile Video Series.” The third installment directed by SykoSan follows Perry in classical fairytale, from Cinderella to Dracula, but the “I Kissed a Girl” singer flips the script by shedding the damsel in distress trope to become the female heroine whose love interests follow no heteronormative happy endings.

As part of the series, she previously released “Never Really Over” and “Harleys in Hawaii” this week.
