2,252 new COVID-19 cases, 36 additional deaths reported in Massachusetts – WCVB Boston

The Massachusetts Department of Public Health reported an additional 2,252 confirmed COVID-19 cases Wednesday, bringing the statewide total to 598,177 since the start of the pandemic.State health officials also added 36 confirmed COVID-19-related deaths to the state’s total, which is now 16,844.As of Wednesday, a total of 4,201,960 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been shipped to the state, of which 3,554,711 doses — or 84.6% — have been administered. So far, 2,219,002 people have received at least one dose and 1,335,709 people are considered fully vaccinated in Massachusetts.The mass vaccination site at Gillette Stadium announced Wednesday that it had administered 300,000 vaccine shots so far.
