Bucatini all’Amatriciana Recipe

A Classic Roman Dish - Bucatini all'Amatriciana Like many of you, Meg and I watched the Stanley Tucci special on CNN called Searching for Italy. In the Rome episode, he has lunch at Armando Al Pantheon to enjoy their famous rigatoni all'amatriciana, one of Rome's famous pastas. I made it a little different and call it bucatini all'Amatriciana. Of course I had to run out and buy the ingredients so we could make it at home. Not a lot of ingredients and very simple to prepare and absolutely delicious. Let's look at some of the ingredients. Bucatini Bucatini is a pasta that looks a lot like spaghetti but it is thicker and has a whole running down through the strand. My kids like to say it looks like a straw made out of pasta.  If you lived in Naples, Italy, you would call...

4 Sneaky Issues That Could Contribute To Irritable Bowel Syndrome – HuffPost

Many people experience irritable bowel syndrome, but not everyone is thrilled to talk about it (understandably so). There are three types of IBS: IBS with constipation (IBS-C), IBS with diarrhea (IBS-D) and IBS with mixed bowel habits (IBS-M). Whether you can’t go or you go too much, the bloating, cramps, gas and other bathroom-related problems are no fun — especially since they’re chronic and can worsen anxiety and depression. There’s no single definitive cause of IBS, though you might’ve heard about stress being a factor. While this is true, there are some other, lesser-known contributors to IBS. Puzzling outbreak of liver disease in kids spreads to EU, US – The Associated Press

LONDON (AP) — Health officials say they have detected more cases of a mysterious liver disease in children that was first identified in Britain, with new infections spreading to Europe and the U.S. Last week, British officials reported 74 cases of hepatitis, or liver inflammation, found in children since January. The usual viruses that cause infectious hepatitis were not seen in the cases, and scientists and doctors are considering other possible sources, including COVID-19, other viruses and environmental factors. It said U.S. officials spotted nine c...

Why experts say you should immediately stop filling birdfeeders – AL.com

Experts are issuing unusual advice – quit filling your bird feeders. The reason, according to Dr. Victoria Hall with the Raptor Center at the University of Minnesota, is an “unprecedented outbreak” of highly pathogenic avian influenza, or HPAI, strain H5N1 in wild birds. “In areas with HPAI transmission in any avian species, consider pausing the use of bird feeders and baths for the next couple of months until the rate of virus transmission in wild birds dramatically decreases,” Hall said. “Not only will this action help to protect those beautiful feathered creatures that visit your yard, but will also help all wild bird species that are already having it hard this spring because of HPAI.” READ MORE: Wild duck in north Alabama tests positive for avian influenza Bird flu in 2 South...
