EXCLUSIVE: Following the news that production was suspended on the Searchlight film Being Mortal, sources tell Deadline the reason for suspension had to do with a complaint made against star Bill Murray for inappropriate behavior. It is unknown at this time what Murray’s involvement in the project will be going forward as the investigation remains active. Insiders add that Aziz Ansari — who is starring, writing and making his directorial debut on the film alongside his partner Youree Henley — was not a part of the complaint, nor was Seth Rogen, who also appears in Being Mortal. “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” was canceled for Thursday night after Stephen Colbert tested positive for COVID-19. The talk show host is “feeling fine” and is “grateful to be vaxxed and boosted,” he said on Twitter. The “Late Show” will be airing repeats from Friday through next week, which was “previously planned,” the CBS show said in its announcement about Colbert’s positive test. Colbert’s guests the previous night were musician Jack White and actor Alexander Skarsgård. White is currently touring and is slated to play at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Thursday. In January, both of NBC’s late night talk show hosts, Jimmy Fallon and Seth Meyers, announced they had tested positive for COVID-19, though neither reported serious symptoms.

Attorneys for actor Amber Heard sought to undermine Johnny Depp's libel lawsuit against her Thursday by spending hours in court focused on the actor's drinking, drug use and texts he sent to friends — including one about wanting to kill and defile his then-wife. Heard's lawyers referenced Depp's history of trashing hotel rooms and his smashing of a bathroom sconce during an argument with Heard. Depp is also facing a lawsuit filed by a member of a film crew who alleges he was assaulted in 2018. The attorneys are trying to derail Depp's libel lawsuit against Heard that alleges that she falsely portrayed him as a domestic abuser and ruined his lucrative acting career.
