Is grieving too long a disorder? – Salon

What is the correct amount of grief? How much bereavement constitutes an appropriate portion? And when does the expected sorrow of loss cross over into something else to be reckoned with — a mental health problem? The newest update to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders arrived earlier this month with an expected — if long debated over — addition: the identification of a condition known as "prolonged grief disorder." The terminology has been over a decade in the making, spurred in part by inquiry surrounding the intersection of bereavement and depression. Yet it arrives now at a moment of uniquely fresh and widepread grief, a time of, as the American Psychiatry Association notes, "several ongoing disasters that have caused death and suffering, such as COVID-19, the w...

Bucatini all’Amatriciana Recipe

A Classic Roman Dish - Bucatini all'Amatriciana Like many of you, Meg and I watched the Stanley Tucci special on CNN called Searching for Italy. In the Rome episode, he has lunch at Armando Al Pantheon to enjoy their famous rigatoni all'amatriciana, one of Rome's famous pastas. I made it a little different and call it bucatini all'Amatriciana. Of course I had to run out and buy the ingredients so we could make it at home. Not a lot of ingredients and very simple to prepare and absolutely delicious. Let's look at some of the ingredients. Bucatini Bucatini is a pasta that looks a lot like spaghetti but it is thicker and has a whole running down through the strand. My kids like to say it looks like a straw made out of pasta.  If you lived in Naples, Italy, you would call...

2022 WWE WrestleMania 38 results, Night 2 grades: Roman Reigns unifies titles, Stone Cold stuns Vince McMahon – CBS Sports

After a wild Night 1 of WrestleMania 38, WWE returned to AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas for Night 2 of the biggest event in pro wrestling. In the main event, WWE champion Brock Lesnar clashed with Roman Reigns in a bout to unify WWE's top two championships. In the end, Reigns was able to outlast Lesnar in another of their typical hard-hitting matches, though one that didn't live up to the past clashes between the two men. Instead of the main event, the lasting memory of Night 2 may instead be Vince McMahon returning to the wrestling ring as he faced Pat McAfee in an impromptu match moments after McAfee defeated McMahon protege Austin Theory. McMahon ultimately got the victory but was embarrassed by his greatest rival when "Stone Cold" Steve Austin made an appea...

COVID-19: This Could Be A Hands-Down Sign How Sick Youll Get From Virus, New Study Says – Daily Voice

A new study found that an unexpected bodily feature may ultimately determine how sick one gets after contracting COVID-19. Researchers in the United Kingdom are reporting that one's fingers may be pointing toward a link between the severity of infections that could potentially lead to a COVID-19 patient being admitted to the hospital. According to the Swansea University study, low testosterone and high estrogen in men are linked to an increased risk of severe COVID-19 infection.  Researchers are reporting that smaller ring finger length in men, a sign of lower testosterone, was a predictor of severe COVID infection and an increased risk of hospitalization after contracting the virus. They noted that people who have larger size differences between the ...
