Bucatini all’Amatriciana Recipe

A Classic Roman Dish - Bucatini all'Amatriciana Like many of you, Meg and I watched the Stanley Tucci special on CNN called Searching for Italy. In the Rome episode, he has lunch at Armando Al Pantheon to enjoy their famous rigatoni all'amatriciana, one of Rome's famous pastas. I made it a little different and call it bucatini all'Amatriciana. Of course I had to run out and buy the ingredients so we could make it at home. Not a lot of ingredients and very simple to prepare and absolutely delicious. Let's look at some of the ingredients. Bucatini Bucatini is a pasta that looks a lot like spaghetti but it is thicker and has a whole running down through the strand. My kids like to say it looks like a straw made out of pasta.  If you lived in Naples, Italy, you would call...

Wanda Sykes and Amy Schumer weigh in on the Oscars slap – CNN

On Ellen DeGeneres' daytime talk show, Sykes, one third of the trio who hosted the Oscars on Sunday, said while she didn't witness Will Smith slapping presenter Chris Rock because she was changing outfits, she did see Smith's profane verbal exchange with Rock and the moments after. "I just felt so awful for my friend, Chris, and it was sickening," she told DeGeneres, according to a preview clip. "I physically felt ill, and I'm still a little traumatized by it." Sykes also expressed her frustration with Smith being allowed to stay in the theater and accept his award for best actor. "For them to let him stay in that room and enjoy the rest of the show and accept his award, I was like, 'How gross is this? This is just the wrong message,'" she said. "You assault somebody, you get escor...

Ivermectin Does Not Reduce Risk of Covid Hospitalization, Large Study Finds – The New York Times

The anti-parasitic drug ivermectin, which has surged in popularity as an alternative treatment for Covid-19 despite a lack of strong research to back it up, showed no sign of alleviating the disease, according to results of a large clinical trial published on Wednesday. The study, which compared more than 1,300 people infected with the coronavirus in Brazil who received either ivermectin or a placebo, effectively ruled out the drug as a treatment for Covid, the study’s authors said. “There’s really no sign of any benefit,” said Dr. David Boulware, an infectious-disease expert at the University of Minnesota. The researchers shared a summary of these results in August during an online presentation hosted by the National Institutes of Health, but the full data set had not been published unt...

Paul Rudd Pranks Conan O’Brien Again With 18-Year-Old Running Gag – HuffPost

As the pandemic lingers on, war rages in Europe and celebrities slap each other on national television, it doesn’t feel like there’s much we can depend on. Except for Paul Rudd never aging — and continuing to torment Conan O’Brien. The “Ant-Man” star went on Earwolf’s “Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend” podcast Sunday and deployed a long-running prank that managed — as always — to evoke chuckles from people who have long been in on the joke. Basically, Rudd tricked O’Brien into playing a clip from the 1988 “E.T.” ripoff “Mac and Me,” a notoriously stinky movie whose place in pop culture Rudd is almost single-handedly keeping alive these days. Rudd has been bringing the cheesy clip from “Mac and Me” ― a film about a young wheelchair user who forms a touching friendship with an alien that is d...

Oscars co-host Wanda Sykes slams Academy for allowing Will Smith to stay after slapping Chris Rock – Daily Mail

Oscars co-host Wanda Sykes slammed the Academy, calling their actions 'gross' for allowing Will Smith to remain in the theater Sunday night after he slapped Chris Rock, a display she said made her feel 'physically ill.'  'It was sickening,' Sykes said in a televised interview on 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show. 'I felt physically ill and I'm still a little traumatized by it.'  Smith, 53, stunned the audience at Dolby Theatre and millions of television viewers at Sunday night's Oscars when he marched onto the stage and slapped Rock, 57, after the comedian made a bald joke about Smith's wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, who has spoken publicly about losing her hair due to alopecia. When Smith returned to his seat, the 'King Richard' star yelled at Rock, 'Keep my wife's name out your (expletive) mouth.'  ...
