Virus Experts Say Exactly How to Not Catch Omicron — Eat This Not That – Eat This, Not That

With the Omicron subvariant BA.2 spreading across Europe and Asia, experts warn a surge is expected in the U.S. "Even though I know the likelihood is all of us are going to be exposed to some extent, all of our actions play a role in making sure that wave is not quite as high as it might be if we were throwing total caution to the wind," says Kirsten Bibbins-Domingo, Ph.D, UC San Francisco COVID-19 Community Public Health Initiative head and chair of the department of epidemiology and biostatistics at UCSF. "We all still have a responsibility to do all we can. To put our little brick in the wall, to create some wall to protect those people for whom, no matter what happens, they will continue to be at risk. The only thing we can do as a community is to try to r...

Bucatini all’Amatriciana Recipe

A Classic Roman Dish - Bucatini all'Amatriciana Like many of you, Meg and I watched the Stanley Tucci special on CNN called Searching for Italy. In the Rome episode, he has lunch at Armando Al Pantheon to enjoy their famous rigatoni all'amatriciana, one of Rome's famous pastas. I made it a little different and call it bucatini all'Amatriciana. Of course I had to run out and buy the ingredients so we could make it at home. Not a lot of ingredients and very simple to prepare and absolutely delicious. Let's look at some of the ingredients. Bucatini Bucatini is a pasta that looks a lot like spaghetti but it is thicker and has a whole running down through the strand. My kids like to say it looks like a straw made out of pasta.  If you lived in Naples, Italy, you would call...

Jason Momoa wears braid, Ukraine-inspired pocket square to Oscars 2022 – Page Six

Talk about a statement accessory. Jason Momoa showed his support for suffering Ukrainians amid the Russian invasion by wearing the country’s colors on the 2022 Oscars red carpet on Sunday. The “Dune” star looked suave in a black-and-blue tuxedo by Henry Poole, but the real focal point of his outfit was his blue-and-yellow pocket square, a nod to the colors of the Ukraine flag. Jason Momoa rocked a braid and a Ukraine-inspired pocket square to the 2022 Oscars. Getty Images“Glory to Ukraine,” he told reporters on the scene. Momoa, 42, also pulled his flowing locks back in a braid and accessorized with a bow tie and square-frame glasses. Fans of the “Aquaman” star flocked to Twitter to gush over his red carpet look. “Loving Jason Momoa’s pocket squ...

Bridgerton Season 2: Is Benedict Gay or Straight? – TVLine

Benedict’s flirtation with artist Sir Henry Granville in the first season of Bridgerton seemed to hint that Lady Violet’s second oldest son might be gay or, at the very least, bisexual. So imagine fans’ surprise when, in Season 2 (now streaming on Netflix), Benedict’s seeming interest in men vanished into thin air like the Duke of Hastings himself. Instead, the character focuses his sexual and romantic energy on Tessa, a woman with whom he attended art school. According to showrunner Chris Van Dusen, the sparks that flew between Benedict and Henry in Season 1 were never meant to suggest that the former was gay. “I’ve seen a lot of discussion about Benedict’s sexuality in Season 1,” Van Dusen concedes to TVLine. “But the storyline [of him befriending] Henry was really about toler...

2022 Oscar Winners: Ariana DeBose, ‘Dune’ and More – The New York Times

Follow the latest news updates from the Oscars 2022. Jane Campion could make a new piece of Oscars history. “CODA,” once an underdog, could defy early expectations and take home Hollywood’s top prize. And a British star could win the best actor honor for his role as an American cowboy — if an American star doesn’t win it for playing a Shakespearean Scottish sinner-made-king. (Though they will each have a tough time outpacing Will Smith, a king in his own way.) The 94th Academy Awards began at 8 p.m. EST on Sunday at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood. Eight categories were awarded in a smaller event before the show. This year’s awards recognize movies released between March 1 and Dec. 31, 2021. Regina Hall, Amy Schumer and Wanda Sykes are the hosts. The nominees for best picture are “Belfast,...

Artificial sweeteners cause cancer in mice. Heres worrying data from humans. – Inverse

Since the 1940s, studies have linked the wide use of artificial sweeteners to cancer in lab mice. In the 1970s, this led the U.S. to put cigarette package-like warning labels on anything containing saccharin. But in recent decades, scientists have mostly written off mice studies as inconclusive. Research on rodents cannot say anything definitive about to the risk for people. Now a new study, published Thursday in PLOS Medicine, presents some troubling data from humans. What’s New — Researchers combed through more than a decade of health data from 102,865 French volunteers. They found that consumption of artificial sweeteners was associated with an increased risk of cancer. Specifically, the researchers found that those who consumed any kind of artificial sweetener had a 13-to-14 percent ...

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles! Kanye & Kim Attend Saints Soccer Game Together, Successfully Co-Parent – TMZ

Kanye West and Kim Kardashian's rocky roller coaster finally hit calm waters -- because they were finally able to be in each other's company ... albeit, for the sake of their kid. The former couple was shoulder to shoulder this weekend -- the first time in a long time, especially amid all the nasty fighting that's been going on -- taking in their son Saint's soccer game in L.A. ... with mama bear, papa bear and his sister, North, watching from the sideline. It's a somewhat startling sight, but a more than welcome one ... frankly, things have been nasty of late between these two -- so the fact they could come toget...
