Bucatini all’Amatriciana Recipe

A Classic Roman Dish - Bucatini all'Amatriciana Like many of you, Meg and I watched the Stanley Tucci special on CNN called Searching for Italy. In the Rome episode, he has lunch at Armando Al Pantheon to enjoy their famous rigatoni all'amatriciana, one of Rome's famous pastas. I made it a little different and call it bucatini all'Amatriciana. Of course I had to run out and buy the ingredients so we could make it at home. Not a lot of ingredients and very simple to prepare and absolutely delicious. Let's look at some of the ingredients. Bucatini Bucatini is a pasta that looks a lot like spaghetti but it is thicker and has a whole running down through the strand. My kids like to say it looks like a straw made out of pasta.  If you lived in Naples, Italy, you would call...

No, really, they literally showed us that Ashtray finale scene seven episodes ago. Posted 2 hours ago The season finale of Euphoria hit our screens this week, and it has had a pretty mixed reaction, to say the least. Fans of the show have accused its creator and writer, Sam Levinson, of leaving too many storylines unresolved, and are unimpressed that they now have to wait for Season 3’s estimated 2024 release to get answers. Me realising i have to wait until season 3 for my 785 questions to be answered. #Euphoria 06:56 AM - 28 Feb 2022 ...

The Larry David Story Shocker: HBO Abruptly Scraps Documentary Day Before Premiere — Find Out Why – TVLine

This seems like the opposite of pretty, pretty, pretty good: HBO has scrapped The Larry David Story just hours before it was set to premiere on the premium cabler. “The Larry David Story is being postponed,” HBO announced on Twitter late Monday. “Instead, Larry has decided he wants to do it in front of an audience. Stay tuned for more info.” The two-part doc was set to premiere Tuesday, March 1 — AKA tonight — at 10 pm. The documentary “finds the 74-year-old sitting down with friend/director Larry Charles for a peek behind the proverbial curtain, as David gets candid about his personal and professional highs and lows, from his humble beginnings as an unfunny Brooklyn kid to becoming America’s favorite misanthrope,” per the official logline. “In between reflecting on his bump...

European Film Academy Condemn Putin, Will Exclude Russian Films from Awards – IndieWire

Russian films will not be considered for this year's European Film Awards following news yesterday that director Sergei Loznitsa dropped out of the organization. Update March 1: Following the European Film Academy (EFA) decision earlier today to exclude Russia from the 2022 European Film Awards, the Ukrainian director who initially protested inaction from the EFA, Sergei Loznitsa, is now saying that Russian filmmakers themselves shouldn’t be targeted. “When I hear today these calls to ban Russian films, I think of these (filmmakers) who are good people. They are victims as we are of this aggression,” Loznitsa said in a statement obtained by Variety. “On February 2022, as the Russian soldiers had just started invading Ukraine, the very first message I received was from my friend ...

10–20% Lower Death Risk From Just 30–60 Minutes of Weekly Muscle-Strengthening Activity – SciTechDaily

Lower risk of death from all causes and from cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and cancer, in particular. But no conclusive evidence that more than an hour of this activity is more effective. Between 30 and 60 minutes of muscle-strengthening activity every week is linked to a 10-20% lower risk of death from all causes, and from cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and cancer, in particular, finds a pooled data analysis of the available evidence, published online in the British Journal of Sports Medicine. The findings are independent of aerobic exercise. But the analysis points to a J-shaped curve for most outcomes, with no conclusive evidence that more than an hour a week of muscle-strengthening activity reduces the risk further still. Physical activity guidelines recommend reg...

New Coronavirus Lineage Discovered in Ontario Deer – The New York Times

Scientists have identified a new, highly mutated version of the coronavirus in white-tailed deer in southwestern Ontario, one that may have been evolving in animals since late 2020. They also found a very similar viral sequence in one person in the area who had close contact with deer, the first evidence of possible deer-to-human transmission of the virus. “The virus is evolving in deer and diverging in deer away from what we are clearly seeing evolving in humans,” said Samira Mubareka, a virologist at Sunnybrook Research Institute and the University of Toronto and an author of the new paper. The report has not yet been published in a peer-reviewed journal, and there is no evidence that the deer lineage is spreading among, or poses any elevated risk to, people. Preliminary laboratory exp...

‘It’s a more expansive, inclusive version’: how women reshaped the history of the Beatles – The Guardian

The Beatles For decades, academic appreciation of the fab four was an overwhelmingly male pursuit. Meet the female scholars, musicians and podcasters redressing the balance For teenager Janice Mitchell, hearing the Beatles’ I Want to Hold Your Hand on US radio in December 1963 affected her in ways she still can’t quite articulate. “How do you explain why [you were] electrified when you were struck by lightning?” she says, laughing.I Want to Hold Your Hand didn’t just sound more interesting than the other songs in rotation on her home town station, the single represented an escape from a difficult childhood. Mitchell, of Cleveland, Ohio, grew up with neglectful parents who eventually abandoned her and two younger siblings. And 1963 had been another hard year. Mitchell was reeling from the...
