Bucatini all’Amatriciana Recipe

A Classic Roman Dish - Bucatini all'Amatriciana Like many of you, Meg and I watched the Stanley Tucci special on CNN called Searching for Italy. In the Rome episode, he has lunch at Armando Al Pantheon to enjoy their famous rigatoni all'amatriciana, one of Rome's famous pastas. I made it a little different and call it bucatini all'Amatriciana. Of course I had to run out and buy the ingredients so we could make it at home. Not a lot of ingredients and very simple to prepare and absolutely delicious. Let's look at some of the ingredients. Bucatini Bucatini is a pasta that looks a lot like spaghetti but it is thicker and has a whole running down through the strand. My kids like to say it looks like a straw made out of pasta.  If you lived in Naples, Italy, you would call...

Bottega Veneta unveils first collection by new creative director Matthieu Blazy – CNN

Written by Marianna Cerini, CNNMilan, Italy The 'new' vision for Bottega Veneta began with a white tank top and a pair of jeans -- the first look to open the Italian label's Fall-Winter 2022 collection in one of Milan Fashion Week's most-anticipated shows. The outfit was deceptively simple, but a closer look revealed the trousers to be actually made of leather -- specifically a printed, supple nubuck constructed to look like denim. It exuded craftsmanship, thoughtfulness, and an element of surprise. For Matthieu Blazy, it was a fitting preamble to his debut as Bottega's new creative director. A white tank top and blue trousers was the opening look in Matthieu Blazy's debut show for Bottega Veneta's Fall-Winter 2022 collection. Credit: Alessandro Lucioni/Bottega Veneta Expectations we...

Strange Evolutionary Pace of SARS-CoV-2 Mutations Is Finally Revealed in New Study – ScienceAlert

The timeline of the COVID-19 pandemic has been marked by a series of catastrophic waves: surging crests of infection spreading around the world, often spearheaded by newly evolved variants of the pathogen, such as Delta and Omicron.   This is simply how viral evolution can play out, of course. But SARS-CoV-2 is an unusually successful and dangerous virus; part of what makes the 'novel coronavirus' so formidable is its ceaseless novelty – the unusually rapid pace at which new variants appear to be spawning. "What we were seeing with the variants of SARS-CoV-2, particularly the variants of concern, is that they have undergone many more mutations than we would expect under the normal evolutionary pace of similar coronaviruses," explains infectious disease researcher Sebastian Duchene fr...

SAG Awards Analysis: Oscar Race Upended As ‘CODA’, Jessica Chastain & Apple Score Big In First Test Of Guild Strength – Deadline

Deadline It was a night when the pundit-predicted Oscar-season frontrunners The Power of the Dog and Belfast came up empty, and longer shots like CODA and The Eyes of Tammy Faye won key races that promise to add a bit more suspense as we glide toward the Oscars. The big movie winner of the night, CODA, was one I saw coming and in my Notes on the Season column on Friday predicted both of its victories for Supporting Actor Troy Kotsur, who became the first deaf actor to win an individual SAG Award and first to win two since he was also part of its Outstanding Cast Award victory. That was another race I called, not just because of the historic circumstances of seeing the first-ever predominantly deaf cast win the big one, but also because it is such a universal s...
