Two patients with long COVID in California have almost completely alleviated their symptoms by taking daily antihistamines, according to a newly published case report. While the evidence is anecdotal, the remarkable results aren't without precedent, and the authors hope the stories they have detailed can give patients hope and point researchers in the right direction for investigating future treatment.   There are currently no evidence-based treatments for long COVID – also known as post-acute sequelae of SARS-CoV-2 infection (PASC) – but antihistamines are a promising avenue, as they are generally safe to take on a daily basis, so long as they don't interfere with other medications. I made it a little different and call it bucatini all'Amatriciana. Of course I had to run out and buy the ingredients so we could make it at home. Stand-up comedian Heather McDonald has shared a video of the moment she collapsed midway through a set. Earlier this week, McDonald worried her fans during a show at the Improv in Tempe, Arizona after falling to the floor while on stage. She was rushed to hospital by her sister and found out she had fractured her skull. The cause of her collapse is still unclear, although her publicist told Phoenix NBC it may have been “because of dehydration”. McDonald has since been reassuring her fans on Instagram, and even found the time to share a new episode of her podcast Juicy Scoop with Heather McDonald. Saget, 65, was found unresponsive in his Ritz-Carlton hotel room in Orlando on Jan. 9. He was pronounced dead on the scene with no signs of foul play or drug use, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office said at the time. Saget had been on a stand-up tour, and had performed in Ponte Vedra Beach the previous day. “I had no idea I did a 2 hr set tonight,” he wrote on Twitter after the show. “I’m happily addicted again to this.” Story continues below advertisement The Orange County medical examiner’s office conducted an autopsy the following morning. The family of Bob Saget says that the comedian died of "head trauma" a month ago in his Florida hotel room. A statement from Saget's family released Wednesday shared the conclusion from the medical examiner's office investigating the Jan. 9 death of the "America's Funniest Home Video" host and "Full House" star. “Now that we have the final conclusions from the authorities’ investigation, we felt it only proper that the fans hear those conclusions directly from us," the statement sent by Saget's longtime publicist Michael O'Brien said.
