Bucatini all’Amatriciana Recipe

A Classic Roman Dish - Bucatini all'Amatriciana Like many of you, Meg and I watched the Stanley Tucci special on CNN called Searching for Italy. In the Rome episode, he has lunch at Armando Al Pantheon to enjoy their famous rigatoni all'amatriciana, one of Rome's famous pastas. I made it a little different and call it bucatini all'Amatriciana. Of course I had to run out and buy the ingredients so we could make it at home. Not a lot of ingredients and very simple to prepare and absolutely delicious. Let's look at some of the ingredients. Bucatini Bucatini is a pasta that looks a lot like spaghetti but it is thicker and has a whole running down through the strand. My kids like to say it looks like a straw made out of pasta.  If you lived in Naples, Italy, you would call...

Sting Sells Entire Songwriting Catalog To Universal Music – Deadline

Sting has become the latest elder rocker to cash in his songwriting catalog, selling his back output to Universal Music for a reported $300 million. In doing so, the 70-year-old Sting joins several such recent sales by artists, including Sony buying Bruce Springsteen’s songwriting catalog and recorded music copyrights for an estimated $550 million in December. Earlier last year, David Bowie’s estate sold his publishing catalog to Warner Chappell Music for $250 million. Sting’s catalog includes hits like “Roxanne,” “Every Breath You Take,” and “Message in a Bottle,” songs written for his solo career and for The Police. Universal Music already owns his recorded music catalog. The copyrights to more than 600 songs and future royalties on the catalog are included. “I am...

Kanye West demands that Billie Eilish apologise to Travis Scott after apparent dig – The Independent

Kanye West has demanded an apology from Billie Eilish after claims the singer made a dig at Travis Scott during her recent concert. Eilish stopped in the middle of her performance at State Farm Arena in Atlanta last week after she noticed a fan having difficulty breathing. After the incident had been seen to, she told the crowd: “I wait for people to be OK until I keep going.” Many interpreted Eilish’s comment as a put-down of Scott, who continued to perform at his Astroworld concert in November while people in the crowd were being crushed. In an interview a month after the tragedy, Scott claimed he was not aware people were seriously injured and had died until after his performance was over. Sharing a news report about Eilish “dissing” Scott, West – who has legally changed his name...

The Black Death Plague Didnt Actually Kill Half of Europe, New Study Claims – ScienceAlert

In popular imagination, the Black Death is the most devastating pandemic to have ever hit Europe. Between 1346 and 1353, plague is believed to have reached nearly, if not every, corner of the continent, killing 30-50 percent of the population.   This account is based on texts and documents written by state or church officials and other literate witnesses. But, as with all medieval sources, the geographical coverage of this documentation is uneven. While some countries, like Italy or England, can be studied in detail, only vague clues exist for others, like Poland. Unsurprisingly, researchers have worked to correct this imbalance and uncover different ways for working out the extent of the Black Death's mortality. In our new study, we used 1,634 samples of fossil pollen from 261 lakes...

Billie Eilish Responds to Kanye Wests Apology Demand – Vulture

Photo: Emma McIntyrerds/Getty Images for Interscope Reco Billie Eilish responded to Ye’s (FKA Kanye West) claim that she called out Travis Scott when she stopped a show to give a distressed fan an inhaler. Ye posted a screenshot of an Instagram post that claimed Eilish “dissed Travis Scott at her concert.” However, as seen in the several videos of the concert, Eilish was only concerned about the safety of her fans and did not mention Scott at all. “COME ON BILLIE WE LOVE YOU PLEASE APOLOGIZE TO TRAV AND TO THE FAMILIES OF THE PEOPLE WHO LOST THEIR LIVES,” wrote Ye, “TRAV DIDN’T HAVE ANY IDEA OF WHAT WAS HAPPENING WHEN HE WAS ON STAGE AND WAS VE...

COVID-19 may have actually helped mans cancer disappear: study – New York Post

For someone with cancer, a bout of COVID-19 could derail treatment — or worse. But for one 61-year-old man with terminal stage III lymphoma, his coronavirus infection may have been a stroke of good luck. A recent case study published in the British Journal of Haematology reported that the man had been diagnosed with the disease, presenting with tumors all over his body, not long before he contracted COVID-19, which put him in the hospital for 11 days. When the respiratory illness cleared, he went home. About four months later, his tumors did, too. Lymphoma has occasionally been known to clear on its own, according to Dr. Jonathan Friedberg, of the University of Rochester Medical Center. However, certain immune system responses behind how the COVID-19 pat...
