Eric Clapton claims people vaccinated against COVID-19 are under hypnosis – New York Post

Eric Clapton’s career “had almost gone anyway” until his campaign against conventional medicine took off. The 76-year-old musician went on the Real Music Observer YouTube channel to discuss how his life has changed since reluctantly taking AstraZeneca’s therapy in 2021. Clapton has since become outspoken about his anti-vaccination stance. He claimed that he’d been duped into getting the COVID-19 jab by subliminal messaging in pharmaceutical advertising — and urged others not to fall for it. “Whatever the memo was, it hadn’t reached me,” he said, referring to the “mass formation hypnosis” conspiracy theory, which gained traction in 2021 as part of anti-vaccine propaganda. (In related circles it’s also been called “mass formation psychosis.”) Credited to B...

Lab study shows omicron-blocking antibodies persist four months after a Pfizer-BioNTech booster – The Washington Post

“This is very, very new for the field,” said Pei-Yong Shi, a microbiologist at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, whose team tested antibodies in the blood of vaccinated people against an omicron-like virus in collaboration with Pfizer scientists. “That really shows that at least up to four months, post-dose three, there is still substantial neutralizing activity against omicron.”

COVID vaccine side effects could in part to a type of placebo effect called "nocebo"Despite the fact that not everyone experiences COVID-19 vaccine side effects, they are very common - but now, a new study suggests that these symptoms may be caused by something called the "nocebo effect" and not your body's immune response to the vaccine. Research published in the JAMA Network Open on Jan. 18 suggests that three-fourths of common side effects after the first dose can be attributed to this phenomenon, which is a negative version of the placebo effect (having a positive reaction to treatment that doesn't have any medical benefits). What Is the Nocebo Effect? The nocebo effect essentially happens when a placebo makes someone feel worse due to anxiety or the expectations of symptoms - the op...

Evan Rachel Wood Says Marilyn Manson ‘Essentially Raped’ Her ‘On-Camera’ in Music Video – Variety

Evan Rachel Wood says in the new documentary “Phoenix Rising” that she was “essentially raped on-camera” while filming the 2007 music video for Marilyn Manson’s “Heart-Shaped Glasses.” The video features Wood wearing “Lolita”-inspired heart-shaped glasses and having sex with Manson while flake blood rains down on them. Wood was 19 years old when she filmed the music video and alleges in the documentary that she was fed absinthe on set to the point that she was barely conscious to object when Manson had sex with her on camera. “It’s nothing like I thought it was going to be,” Wood says in the documentary (via Rolling Stone). “We’re doing things that were not what was pitched to me. We had discussed a simulated sex scene, but once the cameras were rolling, he started penetrating m...

Infographic: Endemic vs pandemic diseases | Infographic News – Al Jazeera English

The WHO has said calls to treat the coronavirus as endemic are premature as cases in parts of the world remain high. On March 11, 2020, the World Health Organization declared COVID-19 a pandemic – a new disease that has spread around the world, affecting a large number of people. The term pandemic comes from the Greek word “pan” meaning “all” and “demos” meaning “people”. In comparison, an endemic – with the prefix en- meaning “in or within”-  is the constant presence of a disease within a region, making its spread more predictable. Many experts expect COVID-19 will not be eradicated, and the disease will become endemic and stay with us, in a milder form. While the conditions to reclassify COVID-19 as endemic are not precisely defined, many countries – particularly in Europe –...

Half of children hospitalized with COVID develop headaches, altered mental state – Study Finds

PITTSBURGH — Concerning new data shows that nearly half of all children hospitalized with COVID-19 experience neurological symptoms. Researchers from the University of Pittsburgh also report COVID-positive pediatric patients with these symptoms were much more likely to need intensive care. Of the 44 percent of children with neurological symptoms, the most common were headaches and acute encephalopathy, or in simpler terms, “an altered mental status.” “The SARS-CoV-2 virus can affect pediatric patients in different ways: It can cause acute disease, where symptomatic illness comes on soon after infection, or children may develop an inflammatory condition called MIS-C weeks after clearing the virus,” says lead study author Ericka Fink, M.D., pediatric intensivist at UPMC Children’s Hospi...
