Taylor Swift Blasts Blur’s Damon Albarn for Saying She Doesn’t Write Her Songs – Hollywood Reporter

Taylor Swift is calling out Blur frontman Damon Albarn for criticizing her as an artist and claiming that she doesn’t write her own music. “I was such a big fan of yours until I saw this. I write ALL of my own songs. Your hot take is completely false and SO damaging. You don’t have to like my songs but it’s really fucked up to try and discredit my writing. WOW,” Swift shared with her 89.8 million followers. “PS I wrote this tweet all by myself in case you were wondering.” Swift’s response came after the Los Angeles Times posted an interview with Albarn on Sunday night. In it, the 53-year-old British musician who fronted the rock band Blur and co-founded and performed as part of the group Gorillaz, was explaining how hard it is to play a concert behind a piano ra...

First COVID, then hair loss? – WJW FOX 8 News Cleveland

by: Hunter Funk, Nexstar Media Wire Posted: Jan 24, 2022 / 03:02 PM EST / Updated: Jan 24, 2022 / 03:02 PM EST WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — It may take some time to recover from the coronavirus, but once you feel like you’re better, there may be a new obstacle to overcome.  Two to three months later, you could see a significant amount of hair loss. According to the American Academy of Dermatology Association, the stress and fever that any illness can bring to the body can cause this. The association states that getting sick can force more hair into the shedding phase.  “When people have extreme stress on their body, the hair quits cycling, and those that are caught in this phase — called the telogen phase — end up losing their...

Bureaucracy Scuttles Release Of Antiviral Pills – The Daily Wire

Just more than two years since the first COVID-19 case was diagnosed in the U.S., scientists have created a powerful tool against the virus. The problem: It’s hard to get. “A flurry of regulatory, testing and logistical issues is complicating the rollout, potentially requiring people with symptoms to make multiple stops at doctors’ offices or testing sites within the five-day window when the drugs are recommended,” Politico reported on Sunday. The antiviral COVID-19 pills “are less expensive and more practical than the single antibody treatment shown to be effective against the rapidly spreading Omicron variant, which has to be administered in a clinical setting. The key is, a series of pills must be started within days of the onset of symptoms — and after a test confirms a Covid-19 infec...

Fight Club’s new ending in China: Changes were made – Polygon

David Fincher’s Fight Club has gotten a new ending in a new online release in China, Vice reports. In China, imported films are often tweaked to uphold the government’s views on law and order. For Fight Club’s pretty intense, pro-anarchy ending that meant for a serious overhaul. The original ending of the 1999 film (ahem, spoilers ahead) sees the narrator (Edward Norton) realizing that his toxic friend Tyler Durden (Brad Pitt) — who founded the titular fight club and turned it into a certifiable anarchist cult — is actually just his alter ego. Instead of stopping Tyler’s anti-consumerist plans, the narrator ends up destroying Tyler instead — and then reunites with female lead Marla Singer (Helena Bonham Carter), as they stare out the window of a high rise and watch the buildings ar...

2 ‘Flurona’ cases detected in Alabama, both in young children, lab says – AL.com

Two “Flurona” cases – simultaneous infections with COVID-19 and the flu - were detected in Alabama children last week, according to a reference laboratory in Memphis, Tenn. Compass Laboratory Services said both of the positive Flurona cases involved young children who had “significant symptoms,” of respiratory infection. The condition of the children was not released. Dr. William Budd, chief scientific office of Compass Laboratory Services, said the two cases of Flurona were the first observed by the lab. “Even though these are the first cases of ‘Flurona’ we have observed, we have seen many cases of co-infection between COVID-19 and respiratory bacterial pathogens,” Budd said. “Clinicians need access to more extensive testing as it has been shown that nearly half of hospitalized pati...
