Peloton responds after another TV character has a heart attack on one of its bikes – The Hill

Peloton released a statement on Monday after another older male character on a popular TV show was shown suffering a heart attack after using one of its bikes, saying it did not provide any equipment or agree for its products to be shown. On Sunday, the sixth season of the Showtime series "Billions" premiered, and early in the episode, a character named Mike Wagner, or Wags, played by David Costabile, is shown in his home biking on a Peloton before suffering a heart attack and later recovering. "We get why these fictional TV shows would want to include a brand that people love to talk about, but Showtime's use of Peloton's Bike+ and reference to a Peloton Instructor was not a brand, product, or instructor placement, and we did not agree for our brand and IP to be used on this show o...

Man thought he had a hernia, but doctors found female genitalia in bulge – New York Post

Doctors operating on what they thought was a dad-of-three’s hernia instead found the bulge in fact contained female genitalia. The 67-year-old went into hospital in Kosovo complaining of swelling in his groin that had lasted for a decade and was also born with only one descended testicle. Doctors diagnosed him with an inguinal hernia, when tissue pokes through into the groin at the top of the inner thigh. But when surgeons inspected the mass they found a uterus, cervix, fallopian tube and ovary, as well as his missing testicle.  The case was revealed in the journal Urology Case Reports by medics working at the University of Prishtina. The man was diagnosed with an extremely rare condition known as Persistent Mullerian duct syndrome (PDMS). Only 200...

Queen Latifah on Chris Noths dismissal from ‘The Equalizer’: Its personal – New York Post

Queen Latifah is making her thoughts known following her former “Equalizer” co-star Chris Noth’s unexpected firing from the show. Noth, 67, was ousted from the CBS drama as well as the “Sex and the City” spinoff “And Just Like That” last year following allegations of sexual assault. Latifah, 51, told People what she thought about Noth’s dismissal as well as his character being written off. “It’s still surreal. It is such a dicey, delicate situation that requires a great deal of respect,” the “U.N.I.T.Y.” singer said. “That’s a personal thing that he’s going to have to deal with.”  “We are figuring out what we want to do creatively on the show and how we’re going to deal with that character,” she added. “Chris’ character is obviously a big part of the...

**Related Video Above: Local doctor talks about importance of flu vaccine amid COVID-19 pandemic.** (WJW) — After bird flu was found in three ducks in the Carolinas earlier this month, the United States Department of Agriculture is reminding hunters, farmers and anyone else who works with birds to be vigilant. Already in the last two months, multiple cases had been detected in Canada and Europe, but these new cases are reportedly the first seen in the wild in the United States in five years. And while Eurasian H5 avian influenza (the strain found) is not considered a high risk to humans, the illness can quickly affect bird populations, the USDA says. ABC’s ‘Promised Land’: TV Review – Hollywood Reporter

A character in the new ABC drama Promised Land sits by a sparkling pool in a bikini reading King Lear, a moment that captures at once almost everything you could possibly need to know about the primetime soap. Promised Land wants to be titillating and tawdry, but at the same time it wants to have a little bit of nuance and pedigree, but at the same time, it worries that audiences might not get what that nuance is, so everything has to be underlined. Though I wish Promised Land had a little more confidence in its viewers, the first two episodes point to a slightly above-average broadcast attempt to do Dallas or Dynasty — a fight in the pilot even ends up in that swimming pool — for a Latino audience; there are just enough distinctive elements to cover for all of the w...
