Andy Cohen really regrets slamming Ryan Seacrest during NYE broadcast – Page Six

Andy Cohen is still dealing with the fall out from his New Year’s drunken eve. The booze-loving Bravolebrity issued a mea culpa to Ryan Seacrest Monday for bashing his ABC New Year’s Eve broadcast team as a “group of losers,” while Cohen downed drink after drink on his rival CNN holiday special with Anderson Cooper last Friday. “The only thing that I regret saying, the only thing is that I slammed the ABC broadcast, and I really like Ryan Seacrest and he’s a great guy,” Cohen said of ABC’s broadcast of “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” on his “Radio Andy” talk show Monday. “And I really regret saying that, and I was just stupid and drunk and feeling it.” He added, “And it was, it was, I was continuing the Journey rant, and I just kept talking...

Los Angeles County reports nearly 45,000 new COVID cases over weekend – New York Post

Los Angeles County reported nearly 45,000 new COVID-19 cases over the New Year’s weekend with two deaths, health officials said.  LA County reported 23,553 new positive COVID cases Saturday and 21,200 Sunday, officials said. Over 20 percent of those who have taken a test are coming back positive for the virus. Long lines could be seen at walk-up testing sites throughout LA as take-home tests are flying off pharmacy shelves.  Officials said outdoor activities where people were unmasked for long periods of time, as well as crowded indoor events, could be blamed for the surge in positive cases. “During this surge, given the spread of a more infectious strain of the virus, lapses can lead to explosive transmission,” said LA County Public Health Director Barbar...

COVID SCIENCE-Virus leaves antibodies that may attack healthy tissues; B cell antibodies weakened, not defeated by Omicron – Yahoo Finance

By Nancy Lapid Jan 3 (Reuters) - The following is a summary of some recent studies on COVID-19. They include research that warrants further study to corroborate the findings and that has yet to be certified by peer review. Coronavirus leaves survivors with self-attacking antibodies Months after recovering from SARS-CoV-2 infection, survivors have elevated levels of antibodies that can mistakenly attack their own organs and tissues, even if they had not been severely ill, according to new findings. Among 177 healthcare workers who had recovered from confirmed coronavirus infections contracted before the availability of vaccines, all had persistent autoantibodies, including ones that can cause chronic inflammation and injury of the joints, skin and nervous system. "We would not normally e...

With Tentpoles Bound To Surge The 2022 Box Office, The Great Theatrical-Streaming Day & Date Experiment Goes Out Like A Dud In 2021 – Deadline

Before the pandemic, if there was something studio executives rubbed their hands about, it was the near total eclipse of the theatrical window. In 2021, for some studios that dream came true, and as far as 2022 goes, hopefully they’ve learned their lesson from this nightmare that, in Deadline’s annual survey, shows largely diluted box office grosses and lackluster home viewership for major studio theatrical day-and-date movies. We’ve assembled the best data out there on the 30-day home viewership of these movies from third party data corp Samba TV and juxtaposed them next to their domestic box office results since the simultaneous release of movies on streaming has been predominantly a U.S. experiment. Thirty days essentially is the amount of time that WarnerMedia, the biggest ...

The Weeknd, Jim Carrey team for Dawn FM, a weird new album ‘universe’ – Polygon

Starboy is starting off the year with a new universe. The Weeknd, also known as Abel Tesfaye, has announced a new album called Dawn FM, that it’s coming Jan. 7, and that it’s packed with an unusual cast of collaborators. There are a wide variety of musical styles: Quincy Jones, Lil Wayne, Oneohtrix Point Never, and Tyler, The Creator. And there’s also Jim Carrey. There’s a new video promo which promises a “new sonic universe,” as The Weeknd gets into a car crash, is dragged away by cult members in robes, suddenly ages, appears in a club, is approached by a cult leader, and appears confused. And then a DJ welcomes the viewer to 103.5 Dawn FM, noting that “you’ve been in the dark way too long. It’s time to walk into the light, and accept your fate with open arms.” There are some ...
