The two puppet characters, sitting at the counter with Zoe's pet rock, Rocco, go head-to-head in their high-pitched, screechy voices as the only human in the scene, Gabi, regrets to inform them that there are no more oatmeal raisin cookies, which are "Elmo's favorite," according to the famous red puppet.  But Zoe breaks the news to Elmo that he can't have the last one of his favorite treats because her pet rock Rocco is hungry and wants it.  "Rocco? A sobering reminder: CDC warns about rabies after 5 die from the virus in 2021 – USA TODAY

U.S. health officials are raising concerns over an increase of rabies cases in humans after five people, including a child, died of the disease last year. Deaths in Idaho, Illinois, Texas and Minnesota happened after each person came in direct contact with rabid bats between late September and early November, according to a Thursday report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The fifth patient was bitten by a dog in the Philippines before returning to the U.S. There were more rabies cases in humans in a single year since 2011, CDC rabies experts Amber Kunkel and Ryan Wallace told USA TODAY, after no reported cases in 2019 or 2020. The uptick in cases may be due to a lack of awareness about the risks of rabies and what to do after potential exposure, the CDC said, because t...
