Zendaya Pulls Classy Move Before Euphoria Season Premiere – HuffPost

Zendaya won an Emmy for playing Rue in the HBO drama “Euphoria” ― but that doesn’t mean she wants everyone to watch her in the new season of the hit series. Before the Season 2 premiere on Sunday, she warned that the new episodes may be triggering and asked that fans only watch if they can handle the material. “I know I’ve said this before, but I do want to reiterate to everyone that Euphoria is for mature audiences,” read an Instagram post she put up. “This season, maybe even more so than the last, is deeply emotional and deals with subject matter that can be triggering and difficult to watch. Please only watch it if you feel comfortable.” “Take care of yourself and know that either way you are still loved and I can still feel your support,” the “Spider-Man: No Way Home” star added. Ze...

Amy Schneider is the first woman to win $1 million on Jeopardy! – CNBC

Amy Schneider became the first woman to win $1 million on 'Jeopardy!' as she closed out her 28th game Friday. She now has $1,019,600 in game winnings, making her the fifth millionaire winner in the trivia show's history and just the fourth to reach that mark within a regular season. It's the latest history-making win for Schneider, 42, who on Dec. 29 won her 21st game and set a new record for the most consecutive wins by a woman, surpassing the 20 games won by Julia Collins in 2014. Becoming a game show millionaire feels "amazing" and "strange," Schneider said in a statement: "It's not a sum of money I ever anticipated would be associated with my name." "Being in the history of the game I think is something," she added. "You know, the money doesn't feel real yet but that is ...

A universal flu vaccine may be the next big mRNA breakthrough for Moderna, Pfizer – CNBC

Employees in special suits test the procedures for the manufacturing of the messenger RNA (mRNA) for the Covid-19 vaccine in German company BioNTech, in Marburg, Germany on March 29, 2021. Abdulhamid Hosbas | Anadolu Agency | Getty Images The research and development that led to the Covid-19 vaccines have boosted efforts to find a more powerful, longer-lasting flu vaccine, perhaps taking steps towards virologists' holy grail: a one-time, universal flu jab. Scientists at Pfizer and Moderna, the pharmaceutical companies that harnessed a half-century of research into mRNA technology to create Covid vaccines, are using that same know-how in exploring ways to inoculate the masses from the flu. "As demonstrated through the COVID-19 vaccine, mRNA vaccines offer…...

Rapid testing for Omicron: is a nose swab enough? – AOL

(Reuters) - The fast-spreading Omicron variant has made us more reliant on rapid at-home antigen tests to tell us if we have COVID-19. But should we be swabbing our throats as well as our noses?    For now, the guidance depends on where you live.    Some scientists have said people can transmit Omicron when it has infected their throat and saliva but before the virus has reached their noses, so swabbing the nostrils early in the infection will not pick it up.    A small recent U.S. study backed up that view. PCR tests of the saliva from 29 people infected with Omicron detected the virus on average three days before nose samples were positive in antigen, or so-called lateral flow, tests.    In general, rapid tests have a lower sensitivity than lab-processed PCR tests, meaning they produce ...

Diet Soda May Increase Your Risk of Dementia — Best Life – Best Life

We all do, or at least try to do, little daily things that are good for our body and mind—especially at the start of a new year. Whether that means taking the stairs instead of the escalator, swapping white bread for whole wheat, or drawing ourselves a long evening bath to soak in, it feels good to make healthy choices throughout the day. But it turns out one thing you may have been doing might not be so good for you after all—in fact, it could lead to dementia down the line. Dementia, defined by the World Health Organization (WHO) as a "syndrome in which there is deterioration in cognitive function beyond what might be expected from the usual consequences of biological aging," affects more than 5.8 million people in the United States. One in three seniors dies wit...

Most common omicron symptoms now; 1 unique symptom reported – AL.com

The signs of traditional COVID – cough, fever, loss of taste or smell – are well known. The fast-spreading omicron variant, however, is presenting with different and, in many cases, milder cold-like symptoms. The main symptoms of the omicron variant are: Cough Fatigue or tiredness Congestion or runny nose Sore throat, particularly a “scratchy” throat Headache Muscle aches Sore throat has been identified as a distinguishing symptom, according to experts. The symptom includes a dry-sore throat that caused sharp pain when a patient swallows and appears before most other COVID symptoms. “It’s a very prominent symptom,” Dr. Jorge Moreno, an assistant professor of medicine at Yale School of Medicine, told Business Insider. “It’s not like a little tickle in the throat. If they’re reportin...
