Man claims COVID-19 made his penis shrink – Fox News

An anonymous man in his 30s who had to be hospitalized after contracting COVID-19 last July now claims that the disease left him with a shrunken penis and erectile dysfunction.  "When I got out of the hospital, I had some erectile dysfunction issues. Those gradually got better with some medical attention, but I seem to be left with a lasting problem. My penis has shrunk," the man wrote in a letter to Slate's "How To Do It" podcast.  "Before I got sick, I was above average, not huge, but definitely bigger than normal. Now I've lost about an inch and a half and become decidedly less than average." Dr. Ashley Winter, a urologist in Oregon, confirmed to the podcast hosts that "COVID d--- is like a real thing." A man in his 30s claims his penis shrank by 1.5 inches after he con...

Priyanka Chopra Addresses Nick Jonas Split Rumors After That Instagram Name Change – E! NEWS

David M. Benett/Dave Benett/Getty Images Priyanka noted that, as her career has progressed, she's become "a lot more introverted" than in the past in an effort to prioritize herself and her mental health. "I'm starting to protect myself a lot more because I realize how much [the entertainment business] takes out of you," she explained. "It takes a part of your soul, constantly trying to make sure that you say the right thing, do the right thing, dress the right way, not make a mistake, not trip because the whole world is going to watch. Or not fall when you're walking up on a red carpet or say something wrong or have a bad f--king day." Priyanka also revealed her and Nick are planning for the future too. The actress, who has spoken about wanting to have children in the past, said that...

Prince Andrew Is Stripped of Military Titles as Sexual Abuse Case Proceeds – The New York Times

LONDON — Prince Andrew, the second son of Queen Elizabeth II, has been forced to relinquish his military titles and royal charities, Buckingham Palace said on Thursday, a stinging rebuke by the British royal family a day after a federal judge in New York allowed a sexual abuse case against him to go ahead. The palace said that Andrew, 61, who has been accused by Virginia Giuffre of raping her while she was a teenager, would also no longer use the title “His Royal Highness,” a prized symbol of his status as a senior member of the royal family. In a terse statement, the palace said that Andrew would “continue not to undertake any public duties” and that he “is defending this case as a private citizen.” Andrew, who is also known as the Duke of York, has denied Ms. Giuffre’s allegations, whi...

Boosters, layered protections remain crucial as COVID numbers rise – New Hanover County

Boosters, layered protections remain crucial as COVID numbers rise NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC – As metrics measuring the spread of COVID-19 in New Hanover County continue to remain high, officials from New Hanover County Health and Human Services encourage all community members to get fully vaccinated and receive a booster dose once eligible. “The Omicron variant, which CDC now estimates to be 99 percent of cases across the Southeastern region, is spreading very rapidly in our area causing serious disruptions to healthcare, schools and businesses. All of us need to use the tools we have to control these impacts: wear a mask in indoor public places, distance from those outside your household and stay home and away from others if symptomatic or exposed. Also, please get vaccinated...

How Long Are You Contagious With Omicron COVID Infection? Heres What Health Experts Say – NBC Chicago

As more children remain in classrooms across Chicago and omicron cases continue to surge through the city, people are asking how long they'll be contagious after contracting COVID-19. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention issued new guidance last month, shifting the timing for isolation and quarantine as some experts say the time frame when people are most contagious is earlier. "It is taking less time from when someone is exposed to COVID to potentially develop infection. It is taking less time to develop symptoms, it is taking less time that someone may be infectious and it is, for many people, taking less time to recover. A lot of that is because many more people are vaccinated," Chicago Department of Public Health Commissioner Dr. Allison Arwady said....

Sacramento County says omicron could peak in early February, working on hospital surge capacity – KCRA Sacramento

Sacramento County’s public health officer said a peak in the omicron surge is still likely to be a few weeks away and that officials will be helping hospitals increase “surge capacity.” Dr. Olivia Kasirye said Thursday that the county’s COVID-19 case rate is now three times higher than it was at last year’s peak, and is forecast to peak in late January or early February. In the meantime, cases are spiking at schools and jails and people should do their part to help others by getting vaccinated against the virus or boosted if they are eligible, Kasirye told reporters during a briefing. “As a whole, the omicron variant seems to have milder symptoms compared to other variants,” she said. “But for those who are unvaccinated and for the vulnerable or immune-compromised the impacts are sti...

James Gunn looked to Better Call Saul when writing Peacemaker – The A.V. Club

John Cena in Peacemaker Image: HBO/WarnerMedia James Gunn is no stranger to writing superheroes. As the director and writer of Guardians Of The Galaxy and The Suicide Squad, he used to tackling a hero’s arc over the course of two hours. However, the HBO spin-off Peacemaker, starring John Cena, presented a new challenge: Writing for a television series. When it came to learning the differences between writing for television versus film, Gunn looked to AMC’s Better Call Saul for inspiration. “It’s the ability to take its time in telling the story,” Gunn tells The Hollywood Reporter. “Both Saul and Chris are kind of sad-sack characters who are really good at one thing and then really bad at a lot of other things. So I think it’s really just taking that incredibly smart dialogue, that re...

We have so many questions about Boba Fett’s new job in The Book of Boba Fett – The Verge

The long-awaited Boba Fett spinoff, The Book of Boba Fett, is roughly halfway through its seven-episode season on Disney Plus, which follows the iconic bounty hunter as he attempts to reinvent himself as “literally anything other than a bounty hunter.” Yes, Boba Fett has a new job in The Book of Boba Fett. After killing off Jabba the Hutt’s former majordomo, Bib Fortuna (who, we’re told, stepped in to fill the Hutt-shaped space in Mos Espa’s criminal underworld), Boba is now the new “daimyo,” the lord and master of the desert planet’s seedier elements. As we noted in The Verge’s initial review, it’s not entirely clear why Boba Fett is chasing a sudden career change at this point in his life. And after a few more episodes, The Book of Boba Fett has left us with more questions abo...
