Adam Levine Debuts Must-See Rose Face Tattoo – E! Online

Is tat you, Adam Levine? It most certainly is! The star, who is no stranger to body ink, rocked what appears to be a new face tattoo on social media. The Maroon 5 star's new face art was unmissable in a photo his wife, Behati Prinsloo, posted on her Instagram Story as the pair were in a car headed to an event in Miami on Tuesday, Nov. 30.  Based on the picture, the new ink is a long-stem rose next to his left eye. In October, he revealed that he'd gotten the image of a butterfly landing on a spiderweb tattooed at the center of his neck.  "Wise man once said…when Instagram goes down…tattoo your throat…," the performer captioned an Instagram post, "and his name was @nathan_kostechko." As for the newest addition to his collection, Levine is not the only star to try out face ink. Aman...

Scientists say they might have discovered the cause of Alzheimers | TheHill – The Hill

Scientists in California tried to study Alzheimer’s disease from a different perspective and the results may have led them to the cause of the disease. Researchers at the University of California- Riverside (UCR) recently published results from a study that looked at a protein called tau. By studying the different forms tau proteins take, researchers discovered the difference between people who developed dementia and those who didn’t. The tau protein was critical for researchers because they wanted to understand what the protein could reveal about the mechanism behind plaques and tangles, two critical indicators doctors look for when diagnosing people with Alzheimer’s. By analyzing donated brain samples, researchers found that those with brain buildup, like plaques and tangles, bu...

Men who vape are twice as likely to have erectile dysfunction: study – New York Post

Stick this in your e-cig and smoke it. New research published in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine has suggested a correlation between vaping nicotine and impotence, as findings indicate male e-cigarette users are more than twice as likely to suffer from erectile dysfunction [ED] compared to non-vapers. The study, conducted by doctors at New York University’s Grossman School of Medicine and Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, included data from the Population Assessment of Tobacco and Health (PATH) Study, restricting the scope to men in the US aged 20 to 65 who responded to questions regarding ED for the survey. Of the 13,711 participants included, about 1,920 (14%) said they currently use tobacco products other than cigarettes. About ha...

"I'm a trans woman of color, a minority within a minority," Enriquez, who is Filipino, told Yahoo Life at the time. "I"m everything that's not represented in our country, and [ready] to create conversations around what it means to be an American." On Monday, though, her chance to do that was cut short when she failed to advance past closed-door interviews to join one of the Top 16 Mis...

Fauci says COVID-19 diverted resources from fight against AIDS – Fox News

Dr. Anthony Fauci, the top U.S. infectious disease expert, said Tuesday the COVID-19 pandemic has diverted scientific and financial resources from the fight against AIDS, seriously impeding global efforts to achieve the U.N. goal of ending AIDS by 2030. Fauci told the U.N. General Assembly that tackling COVID-19 has also disrupted supply chains and increased the risk for people with HIV, the virus that causes AIDS, of being infected with another deadly virus. "To confront these challenges, we must intensify our collaborative research efforts and unclog supply chains through investment and regulatory action," he said. "We also must assure that people with HIV in all countries have early access to effective COVID-19 vaccines and therapeutics while their supply of anti- HIV drugs also is ...

Many Severe Covid-19 Survivors Go on to Die Within a Year, Study Finds – Gizmodo

The study concluded that these survivors were more than twice as likely to die in the subsequent 12 months compared to people who had tested negative for the virus. This relatively increased risk of death was even higher for people under the age 65. While there remains much research to be done, studies thus far have made it clear that many covid-19 survivors can experience lingering symptoms even after the infection itself has cleared up. And those who are hospitalized are all the more vulnerable to these a...

Ben Affleck is grateful for second chances, including Jennifer Lopez – CNN

"Only within the last five years, I really felt increasingly grateful for the difficulties that I've had. It's not insignificant, because a lot of that pain is rooted in pain caused to other people. And that turns out to be the most painful thing in life," he tells the publication. As for a second chance with Jennifer Lopez, who he is once again dating 17 years after their breakup, he at first held back a bit in the interview saying, "You can write conjecture about it, but one of the harder lessons that I have learned is that it's not wise to share everything with the world. I know that I feel more comfortable having those healthy boundaries in my life around which, in a friendly and straightforward way, I tell you, I just don't want to be talking about my personal relationship in the ...
