A potentially faster-spreading Delta variant, AY.4.2, has been spotted in 8 states – CBS News

A potentially faster-spreading "sub-lineage" of the coronavirus Delta variant named AY.4.2 has been spotted by labs in at least 8 states, and health authorities in the United Kingdom say they are investigating a growing share of cases from this strain of the virus. Labs in California, Florida, Maryland, Massachusetts, Nevada, North Carolina, Rhode Island and Washington state, plus the District of Columbia, have so far spotted at least one case of AY.4.2. While it may spread somewhat faster, health authorities have not found evidence of more severe illness caused by the variant, and they say current vaccines remain effective against it. The sub-lineage has remained a small fraction of circulating cases in the U.S. for several weeks, but American health officials say they are alread...

Weekly coronavirus cases climb in Oregon for first time since August – OregonLive

Oregon recorded a slight increase in weekly coronavirus cases Monday, ending an eight-week streak of declines. The Oregon Health Authority posted 7,877 cases in the past week, up 2% from a week earlier. That includes 2,569 cases announced Monday for the preceding three days. The state’s streak of declining cases had been on pace to end after seven weeks but a data processing problem disclosed Oct. 25 kept it active until now. Weekly cases largely plateaued in mid- to late-October, bouncing between about 8,000 and 7,700. That’s less than half of the peak from late August. Hospitalizations have similarly steadied in recent weeks, with fewer than 600 beds occupied each day by patients who tested positive for COVID-19. That’s less than half of the record from early September. The Oreg...

Jessica Simpson Shares Unrecognizable Photo To Honor 4 Years Of Sobriety – HuffPost

Jessica Simpson commemorated a special ― and deeply personal ― milestone this week: her fourth year of sobriety. The singer and fashion mogul acknowledged the occasion with a throwback photo of herself on social media that she described as “unrecognizable.” The image, Simpson explained, captured the “very moment” in 2017 when she decided “to take back my light, show victory over my internal battle of self respect, and brave this world with piercing clarity.” “Personally, to do this I needed to stop drinking alcohol because it kept my mind and heart circling in the same direction and quite honestly I was exhausted,” she wrote. “I wanted to live as a leader does and break cycles to advance forward ― never looking back with regret and remorse over any choice I have made and would make for...

Andy Cohen claims Bravo paid for Kim Richards 2011 rehab stay – Page Six

Bravo paid for “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” alum Kim Richards to enter rehab for alcoholism, after her disturbing drunken exploits on Season 2 in 2011, producer Andy Cohen said in a new book. “When it was clear that it was a real problem, we wanted to be responsible and we didn’t want to put her in a situation where anything could be exacerbated,” Cohen told author Dave Quinn in the “Housewives” tell-all book , “Not All Diamonds and Rosé.”  “We considered her family and wanted to work with her to get her better. Bravo paid for her rehab.” Richards’ alcoholism played a major role throughout the first two seasons of the Bravo franchise, causing many cast members – including her sister Kyle Richards – to call her out for her behavior. Kyle Richa...

Carole Baskin Sues Netflix Over Tiger King 2 Footage – TMZ

Carole Baskin is putting her foot down over Netflix's sequel to 'Tiger King' -- insisting the producers and Netflix cut out all footage of her for their latest offering. The big cat advocate -- who was heavily featured in the OG series last year -- just filed suit against producers of the mega-hit and the streaming giant itself, asking a judge to put the kibosh on footage of her and her Big Cat Rescue in the upcoming "Tiger King 2" project. According to the docs, obtained by TMZ, all the new video of her that they're teasing in their trailer completely misrepresents reality ... namely, that she is NOT on board with this n...
