Im A Middle-Aged Woman Who Is Considering Hiring A Male Escort – HuffPost

There I was, a newly divorced middle-aged woman, at a popular New York City event space listening to a lecture given by a mother-and-daughter matchmaking team offering tips and rules for 21st century dating. I had just started dating again and needed help finding a guy. After 28 years of marriage, I really didn’t know how to do it. This duo typically charged men $50,000 to $100,000 to help them find mates. I figured they might know something I didn’t know. “A woman shouldn’t offer to pay for drinks or to split the tab on a date,” the mom told us. “Men don’t like that.” “I’m happy to split the tab,” I said. “Any woman who offers to pay her share is someone uninterested in sex,” she scowled. “I love sex and I’m perfectly happy to split the bill,” I responded. “You better be careful becau...

‘The Addams Family’ at 30: How Clashes, a Tantrum Pillow Fort and an Alleged Popped-Out Eyeball Brewed an Unlikely Hit – Hollywood Reporter

Paramount Pictures brass hated 1991’s The Addams Family and made sure first-time director Barry Sonnenfeld and producer Scott Rudin were well aware of the studio’s disgust amid production. However, when the film opened at No. 1, the execs’ tune quickly changed. At least, that’s how Sonnenfeld vividly recalls it. The brass disagrees. The Orion Pictures production was plagued from the beginning. The comedy quickly ran over-budget and over-schedule. But those issues were peanuts compared to the shockwave dealt when then-fledgling Orion unloaded the partially completed picture onto Paramount. It was a perfect storm of disaster, recalls the director. “I fainted. I threw up. I was a nervous wreck,” Sonnenfeld says of the rocky experience.  Ultimately, the fi...

(Adds details from Oxford statement) Nov 5 (Reuters) - British scientists have identified a gene that doubles the risk of dying from COVID-19, providing new insights into why some people are more susceptible to the disease than others, while opening up possibilities for targeted medicine. Around 60% of people with South Asian ancestry carry the high-risk gene, researchers at Oxford University said on Friday, adding the discovery partly explains the high number of deaths seen in some British communities, and the effect of COVID-19 in the Indian subcontinent.
