8 dead as Travis Scotts Astroworld Festival turns into mass casualty incident Friday night, Houston Fire Department says – KTRK-TV

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Eight people died Friday night and hundreds of others were injured during the opening night of a large weekend music festival at NRG Park, authorities said. Editor's note: This is a developing story and is being updated continuously. It happened at the third-annual Astroworld Festival, a sold-out concert event featuring multiple acts. The worst of the incident began around 9:15 p.m. when the crowd of approximately 50,000 began to move toward the front of the stage, according to Houston Fire Chief Samuel Peña. "The crowd began to compress toward the front of the stage, and people began to panic," Peña said. The Ketamine Cure: Is This Unregulated Drug Safe to Use at Home? – The New York Times

Ketamine on Demand Ketamine’s success in early trials has surprised and excited researchers who study mood disorders, a field where drugs like Prozac and Zoloft, paired with talk therapy, have been the main treatment options for decades. But, as with Mr. Gathman, interventions don’t work for up to 30 percent of those suffering from major depression. Moreover, it can take up to two months to determine whether these interventions have any effect at all — a dangerously long time for those suffering from suicidal thoughts and other mood disorders, said Dr. Joshua Berman, the medical director for interventional psychiatry at Columbia University, who helps lead the development of the department’s ketamine program. Ketamine’s effects, on the other hand, are often immediate. Though relatively ne...

Trump Floats Reckless Claim ‘Troubled’ Alec Baldwin Intentionally Shot ‘Rust’ Cinematographer – Yahoo Entertainment

Donald Trump has taken the low road, yet again, this time baselessly suggesting Alec Baldwin intentionally shot “Rust” cinematographer Halyna Hutchins because the actor is “a troubled guy.” Trump floated the reckless claim Thursday during an interview on the right-leaning “Christ Stigall Show” podcast. “In my opinion, he had something to do with it. But if nothing else, how do you take a gun, whether it’s loaded or not loaded, how do you take a gun, point it at somebody that’s not even in the movie, and just point it at this person and pull the trigger, and now she’s dead,” Trump said. Hutchins died and director Joel Souza was wounded on the film’s New Mexico set on Oct. 21. According to the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office, assistant director Dave Halls handed Baldwin a prop gun and dec...
