Twitter reacts to CNNs Sesame Street town hall on COVID vaccines: Government propaganda – Fox News

Plenty of Twitter users uttered some less-than-family-friendly words after Sesame Street characters began promoting coronavirus vaccines on social media and CNN.  On Saturday, CNN’s Erica Hill and Dr. Sanjay Gupta hosted a virtual town hall featuring various characters from the long-running PBS children’s series "Sesame Street."  UNVACCINATED CALIFORNIA HURSE, BREASTFEEDING MOTHER FORCED OUT OVER MANDATE: ‘I HAD TO TAKE A STAND’  LONGWOOD, FLORIDA, UNITED STATES - 2021/08/09: A nurse gives a girl a dose of the Pfizer vaccine at a COVID-19 vaccine clinic at Lyman High School in Longwood on the day before classes begin for the 2021-22 school year. New Trailers: The Power of the Dog, Moonfall, Morbius, The Book of Boba Fett and more – The Verge

I have noticed this irritating thing where more and more trailers have a scene to introduce the trailer. It is already an introduction! You are wasting precious seconds telling me what I’m about to see instead of just showing me! OK end rant. I finished my (late) binge of Maid on Netflix and am now really interested to read the book. It may have been one of the most realistic descriptions of poverty I’ve ever seen, where even the smallest setback can have a devastating effect, and you’re painfully aware of every penny you earn and where it’s going to go before you even get paid. Also The Morning Show finally had a good, return-to-form episode with Ruthless Cory, Spiraling Chip, and Awful Alex each at their peak. The best scene, though, belonged to Mia (Karen Pittman) as she tried t...

Eternals buries Dune and the rest of the competition at the weekend box office – The A.V. Club

EternalsPhoto: Marvel Studios Apparently there’s still some juice in this Marvel Cinematic Universe thing, huh? Who could’ve seen that coming? In case you can’t tell, this is sarcasm. After all, Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings stands as one of the most successful movies of this nightmare pandemic era we’ll be living in forever, so it seems like Marvel movies are still going to be big no matter what—provided you don’t release them day-and-date on Disney+, which (at least for a Marvel movie) is a bit of a box office killer. But we’re not talking about Shang-Chi here, we’re talking about Chloé Zhao’s Eternals, which opened to an impressive $71 million this weekend. Possibly indicating that reviews (and global pandemics) don’t really matter to Marvel fans when it comes to openi...

First orbital SpaceX Starship to splash down, sink off Kauai – Yahoo! Voices

Mahalo for supporting Honolulu Star-Advertiser. Enjoy this free story! At the end of the first orbital test flight for its 164-foot Starship, SpaceX envisions a reentry into the atmosphere at speeds approaching Mach 25, or 19,000 miles per hour, followed by 15 minutes of hypersonic flight. During this time, the spacecraft will hurtle sideways, generating tremendous heat before adjusting to an upright position for a “soft” rocket-powered ocean landing 62 miles north of Kauai. It will sink in the Navy’s Pacific Missile Range Facility, according to plans for the historic flight, and join dozens of warships that have gone down over past decades during Navy “sink exercises” in waters 15,000 feet deep. Most recently that included the retired frigate USS I...

Royal experts demand Prince Harry axes his Netflix deal over The Crowns portrayal of Diana – Daily Mail

Royal experts are demanding Prince Harry tears up his £112million Netflix deal and makes a stand over The Crown's portrayal of Princess Diana.  Royal biographer Angela Levin criticised the Duke of Sussex for not 'finding his voice' over the streaming giant's controversial portrayal of his mother.  It comes after Princess Diana's friend Jemima Khan withdrew her support for The Crown over its 'disrespectful' script after she broke up with the show's creator.   Levin, author of Harry: A Biography of a Prince, told The Sun: 'Harry has remained absolutely silent about Netflix. 'He should tear the deal up and make a stand for his mother. 'What's more important? Money or defending his mum? It's astonishing he can't find his voice on this.' Prince Harry and Meghan Markle signed a deal with the st...
