Kelly’s contentious sex trafficking case finally delivered a long-awaited guilty verdict to the singer. While the milestone victory served as a sigh of relief for some of his victims, Kelly’s ex-wife Andrea “Drea” Kelly shared in an interview with Good Morning Britain that she had mixed emotions about the news. “I sit in a very difficult place because unlike the rest of his victims, I also share children with him. I was married to him, so I wear two hats. I wear the hat of a survivor and an advocate, but I also wear the hat of a mother and an ex-wife… I feel that my heart is in two places,” Drea, who shares three children with the...

The Many Saints of Newark fails to live up to The Sopranos, critics say – CNBC

Still from Warner Bros.' "The Many Saints of Newark." Warner Bros. Who made Tony Soprano? That's the question that "The Many Saints of Newark" aims to answer over the course of its two-hour run time. However, those expecting a story about a boy's rise to the top of North Jersey's most powerful criminal organization may find themselves disappointed. Tony, portrayed by the late James Gandolfini's son Michael, plays a minor role in the film. Instead, it's Dickie Moltisanti (Alessandro Nivola), Tony's mobster uncle that is at the center of "Many Saints." The feature film prequel to the award-winning and beloved HBO series "The Sopranos" opens in a graveyard. As the camera pans up to the headstone of Christopher Moltisanti, audiences hear the voice of actor Mi...

With its next feature Encanto, Disney swaps pure fantasy for magical realism – The Verge

Disney’s next animated feature, Encanto, has a lot of what you’d expect from the studio. It’s bright and colorful, telling the story of a magical family living in the mountains of Colombia, most of whom have been blessed with superpowers. It’s even a musical with songs written by Lin-Manuel Miranda. But despite the familiar fantasy trappings, it explores new territory for Disney: the narrative tradition of magical realism. “The magic is born out of a human need or drive,” Encanto co-writer and co-director Charise Castro Smith tells The Verge. “It’s all generated by relationships and what these characters are going through.” Encanto tells the story of the Madrigal family, who lives in a magical home and go through a very unique experience at the age of five: they’re each granted a sp...

YouTube Bans Anti-Vaccine Misinformation – The New York Times

YouTube said on Wednesday that it was banning the accounts of several prominent anti-vaccine activists from its platform, including those of Joseph Mercola and Robert F. Kennedy Jr., as part of an effort to remove all content that falsely claims that approved vaccines are dangerous. In a blog post, YouTube said it would remove videos claiming that vaccines do not reduce rates of transmission or contraction of disease, and content that includes misinformation on the makeup of the vaccines. Claims that approved vaccines cause autism, cancer or infertility, or that the vaccines contain trackers will also be removed. The platform, which is owned by Google, has had a similar ban on misinformation about the Covid-19 vaccines. But the new policy expands the rules to misleading claims about long...
